Welcome to our Nursing Careers Fair 2013 The University of Nottingham is a pioneer in nursing education. As one of the largest nursing schools in the UK, we offer innovative nursing courses informed by powerful research and delivered by high-quality teachers in an inspiring environment. As a graduate of the University, there has never been a more exciting time to be in nursing. QARANC nurses have worked at the sharp end of military life throughout the last century. Opportunities exist for nursing officers, registered nurses, healthcare assistants and student nurses in postings varying from Ministry of Defence hospital units, primary health care, field hospitals and medical regiments. You could be dealing with a myriad of different casualties, many with poly traumas.

The Trust is a busy district general hospital with a wide variety of vacancies across all divisions, providing flexible working opportunities and job rotations. The Trust encourages professional staff development via a range of programmes, including induction, preceptorship, action learning sets, clinical skills and portfolio development.

Critical Care - Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust

We are recruiting band five nurses to our busy expanding Critical Care department. We care for a variety of specialities including major trauma and neurosurgery. Learning and development opportunities are highly promoted and supported. It is an exciting and challenging role.

Cygnet Health Care

Cygnet employs permanent mental health nurses (from newly qualified to ward managers) and permanent support workers to work on our multidisciplinary teams. We also employ a bank of casual RMNs and support workers to cover shifts as and when required. This is an ideal way for students to make some extra money while gaining experience of working at Cygnet and puts you in a great position if you want to apply to work for us on a permanent basis.

Derby Hospitals offers an exciting variety of opportunities for motivated and patient-focused staff. We are a large Trust that provides safe and effective care with diverse services including acute surgical, medical and midwifery admissions through to rehabilitation, community pathways and end of life care. Applications are welcomed for newly registered staff through our Clearing House.

DCHS understand that time to care for patients should be right at the heart of delivering care. If you’d like the opportunity to join our community and inpatient teams we have a number of roles ranging from healthcare assistants to community nurses and therapists.

HC-One

We have over 240 care homes across Scotland, England and Wales. Our Preceptorship Programme which is accredited with the RCN is considered as a transition phase for newly qualified nurses when continuing their professional development, building their confidence and further developing their competency. Most of our homes can consider both RGN and RMN qualifications.

Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) Doctors Without Borders

Doctors without Borders (MSF) is the world’s leading emergency medical humanitarian aid organisation. We offer emergency assistance to populations in dire distress, for example displacement, areas of armed conflict, natural disasters, epidemics, malnutrition. We need registered nurses with varied experience and an ability to commit for a period of nine months for the first mission. A foreign language is useful but not essential.

Mercy Ships

Mercy Ships operates the charity hospital ship, Africa Mercy, delivering free treatments, surgical training and medical development in West Africa. Dedicated teams, including theatre nurses, ward nurses and therapists, provide operations free-of-charge, for blindness, cleft-lip-and-palate, benign tumour, fistula repair, club feet, bowed legs, dental treatments, and other conditions.

We offer a comprehensive, structured preceptorship period with support from specialist preceptorship nurses, plus an identified preceptor in the area of work to ease the transition from student to registered, accountable practitioner.

The Local Services Division of the Trust provides their own internal Nursebank service to our inpatient areas. We also provide a preceptorship opportunity for newly qualified mental health nurses through the bank service. Full support from the bank professional nurse advisor and a dedicated mentor on the ward is provided.

We are looking for people to join as nursing officers or naval nurses, qualifying with a degree in adult or mental health nursing. If joining the regulars is not for you may wish to consider joining the Royal Naval Reserves, attending one of our Royal Naval Reserve units across the UK.
