Morero Thipane Ramaboya (Born 1988 August 20) better known as Morrey is a South African musician from Ivory Park in Midrand. He first rose to prominence as part of the Ivory Park based HipHop group 1685 Desciples and 85thFAM which he Co-founded before branching out on his own, making a huge mark as a solo artist, Producer, Songwriter & Businessman in the South African Music Industry. Morrey was born in Tembisa then moved to Ivory Park in 1991 with his Family and began making music in his early school days. He attended school at Mikateka Primary School that’s where he met friends who introduced him to Music software’s and began teaching himself how to make beats in his bedroom. In High school (Ivory Park Secondary) he began performing and participating in Art & Culture activities and that’s where his love for music grew even bigger, He co-founded the above mentioned groups and shook the music industry with his ability to produce and song writer with collaborations from Siya Shezi, Anzo, Mickey M,LeParis,Pdot.O & F-Eazy to name a few in the days of full clip at YFM. After his exposure, He released his debut album “Dreams to life” that made him the best producer in his hometown. Coming to his own as an artist and on the cusp of launching his debut project (Malefetsane) which he named after his dearly departed father. He brings into the industry a fresh new sound that embodies an authentic South African identity fusing the Sesotho language, indigenous African instruments and melodies with hip hop beats. Morrey is set to release his debut single (Cava Drip) taken from his upcoming album (Malefetsane) on the 9th of April 2021.
