INTERVIEW
Q : Great... Can you please tell us a little bit about yourself and your visions?
A : My Name is Tumelo Tladi, known as JayHussleMusiq.Born in Limpopo but based in Pretoria.I'm a musician. I' ve been doing music for the past 9 years. My vision is to see the Entertainment industry in Pretoria sustaining Pretoria artists more like the Entertainment industry in Durban.
Q : Please tell us about the SRD track you ' ve recently released. What came into your mind and inspired you to actually act on such a unique song idea?
A : Well, I’m an artist who’s on the ground. I know the conversations that random people are having, as people criticize the SRD Grant though there are those who are grateful for it. So the idea just came from such conversations with random people. So as an artist I created something from those conversations and the people love it.
Q : How many reviews did you get about the track? Can you share the most good and terrible ones if there are any.
A : Besides back stage comments about the song, I sent it for a review by industry colleagues who are on a larger scale than I am.
Q : Did you get your popularity after or before the stress relief track? And how has it been making music that only a limited number of people pay attention to?
A : I won’t say a limited number of people pay attention to it. But a limited number of people get exposed to my music because my marketing resources are limited. The popularity didn’t come with the SRD song. People started getting exposed to my music back in 2019.
Q : Please highlight some of your music experiences which give you memorable feeling of excitement about being an artist...
A : Being able to perform at the same shows with the likes of KO, Black Motion and Sje Konka is an excitement and a motivation on its own. Also seeing guys like Lolli Native shining is motivation to me because these are the guys who came from the ground just like me. Getting paid for doing what you love- now that’s luxury that most people don’t have.
