I am Ledile Sharmine Maponya, 18 years old from Cosmo city. I matriculated 2018 and I am currently studying businesses management. I started modelling at the age of 15, that was in the year of 2016. I am Miss Spring Queen 2016, Miss Valentine 1st Princess 2017, Miss Incredible 2nd Princess 2019, Miss teen Cosmo city 1st Princess 2019. People would complement and convince me to join modelling, they said I have the body for it, and I could win. I lost on my first competition and then thought to myself I was deceived I should give up and forget about all this thing, it wasn’t for me. What I didn’t realise at that time was that I had no experience. Later on, I realised that failing once doesn’t mean I won’t make it the next time and winning on my first pageant wasn’t going to make me the person I am today. I tried again same year, different pageant and I won.

I was crowned the Queen of spring 2016 at Far North Secondary School. Being the queen increased my pride, I had so much confidence in myself. I knew nothing about queening, I thought it was just carrying a crown on your head. I continued joining competition and I was always the second or first runner up. This broke me inside because I have put so much effort in the competition, so I thought not knowing the efforts others have put. Inside I knew I was the best and I am not getting what I want. You don’t have to wait for someone to crown you so you can start acting like a Queen. Be the Queen you want to be, and you will be noticed. Well I can't really say somebody inspired me, but this is what has been inside me for a long time now. I just love fashion, and this is why I’m into modeling also because there is fashion in the industry of models, Fashion is what I have in me. I think there are enough opportunities in Johannesburg because it’s a well-known place, full of opportunities and that's where most famous people reside.
Cebisa Welekazi Who have you worked with? Well I've worked with only a designer, 1 photographer and people in my hood who are still new in this modeling thing. If you could be the brand ambassador for any brand which brand would you pic and why? well I would choose the Nike brand because I’m into fashion a lot, it is one of the biggest fashion brands in the world and I pride myself as it is the brands personality. Another thing is that I love sports so the speed and motion, that’s what it represents. If I could be given that opportunity to be the brand ambassador of Nike, then I would have made it in life. During our shoot you said you would never do nude modeling, why won't you ever try nude modeling? Well yes, I said I wouldn't do nude modeling because if I can't even wear see-through underwear’s then how can I be comfortable with nude modeling. I am confident about my body n I have no problem showing it off in the right way, but it has to be right for me. Beside confidence what should a person have in order to be a model? I think the person should just have a stronger personality.
