All transfer students are automatically eligible to receive scholarships based on the GPA from their previous school or high school.
3.75 and above Trustee Excellence Scholarship $8,000
3.5-3.74 Provost Leadership Award $6,750
3.0-3.49 Dean Service Award $5,000
2.75-2.99 Appalachian Academic Achievement $3,750
2.74 and below Mountain Merit Award $3,000

PIKEVILLE PROMISE
The Pikeville Promise Scholarship covers the student’s remaining tuition after Pell, College Access Program, Kentucky Tuition Grant, academic scholarship and other tuition-only awards have been applied.
To qualify, a student must be a Kentucky resident and:
• Apply and be admitted to UPIKE.
• File the 2025-2026 FAFSA as soon as it opens. Aid is awarded on a funds-available basis; some funds can deplete early.
• Display full eligibility for Pell, CAP and KTG grants.

GOOD TO KNOW: Scholarships at UPIKE can be stacked. This means that on top of an academic scholarship, students can also receive scholarships for athletic or extracurricular activities from the university.

• Submit official transcripts from all colleges or universities you have previously attended, including those for dual credit while in high school. This could include SMARTS/ARTS transcripts or CLEP credits.
• Send UPIKE your ACT or SAT score.
• Submit transcripts for any other accelerated coursework such as AP courses, IB, AICE, DANTES and CLEP.
• Complete the free online UPIKE application.
