Background Sovereign Court, Hammersmith is a brand new development of contemporary 2 & 3 bedroom apartments, penthouses and villas. They feature a 24 hour concierge, fitness suite and private landscaped courtyards. What’s more, the apartments are within a 5 minute walk of Hammersmith Tube Station. To match the exemplary quality of these apartments, Briggs and Forrester required a professional pipework solution to supply hot and cold water to each apartment. Due to a long-standing relationship, Uponor were chosen to supply this solution.
Uponor Involvement Before the project commenced, the Uponor sales and technical team spent time with Briggs and Forrester to understand the project requirements in detail. It was agreed that an MLCP solution with S-Press Plus connection technology would be the best option for radiator connections and supplying hot and cold water from the corridors to each apartment. After the initial meeting took place, personnel from Briggs and Forrester and consultants from Berkeley Homes were invited to Uponor’s Customer Experience Centre to learn more about the complete portfolio of solutions and how they could be adapted for future projects. Before any work took place, it was important that the installation team were comfortable working with Uponor’s solutions. As such, an Uponor representative went through how to construct an MLCP joint correctly. Each installer was then asked to replicate this technique and were provided with full certification upon successful completion. The training was adapted slightly to meet the requirements of Briggs and Forrester.
BENEFITS: Uponor value engineered an MLCP solution to supply water at the required velocity set out by Briggs and Forrester to each apartment. In the long term, this will ensure customer satisfaction can be maintained. By utilising S-Press Plus technology, the installation team had full visibility to assess if the pipe was engaged with the fitting. What’s more, it was easy to detect whether a secure connection had been made with the useful peel away pressing sleeves. The client will benefit from a 50 year service life and a solution that does not suffer from the ravages of corrosion or pin holing.
