School Aims

The School’s Purpose

Our purpose is to inspire in young people an excitement for the future by empowering them with the skills, ambition and confidence to navigate their own path with a sense of responsibility to build a better future for all.

Uppingham

Cairo’s Key priorities are:

1. Deliver academic excellence through stimulating, creative, stretching teaching that immerses, challenges and engages pupils who, in turn, are enthused by their learning to think critically and independently.

2. Use the richness of our extended provision as a springboard to provide our pupils with an inspiring and genuinely holistic education in which they are enabled to achieve excellence in our music, sports, creative and visual arts, and drama.

3. Value and nurture each individual pupil within a warm, supportive house-based context, where pupils’ happiness and well-being is cared for in an inclusive, affirming environment.

4. Enable pupils and staff to engage with the wider world and see the value of service through leadership programmes and educational, community and charitable projects locally, nationally, and overseas.

5. Sustain the notion of ‘education for life’ through our pupils’ experience of school and their continued life-long participation in the Uppingham Foundation.

6. Work to secure the future of Uppingham Cairo through the recruitment, retention and support of the best pupils and staff; and, to develop our already magnificent infrastructure to world-class standards.
