FINDING RIPTIDE Hello Everyone! I can’t wait to share with you guys all of the awesome things that I did last week! Did you know that we had a celebrity on campus last week? Award winning chef, author, and culinarian behind Café Spice, Hari Nayak was here to celebrate the Grand Opening of our Café Spice in the LBC Food Court. First we celebrated in Bruff with henna artists, Indian style dancers, and a special menu cooked by Chef Hari on Tuesday. The next day, Chef Hari signed and gave away over one hundred of his newest cookbooks, as well as passed out samples of Chicken Tikka Marsala, Channa Marsala, and Mango Lassis. On Thursday, I got all dressed up in my uber scary Halloween costume and stopped by the spooky Halloween dessert bar at Bruff Commons. Bruff was making Fresh Waffle Cones, Ice Cream Sundaes, Milk Shakes, Rootbeer Floats, Strawberry Smoothies, Mango Smoothies, Brownies a la Mode, Banana Splits, and Ice Cream Sandwiches. Delicious! Last Friday marked the first day of Stop Hunger – a campaign the entire month of November to raise money for Second Harvest Food Bank. You can donate $1 in cash, credit, Wavebuck$, or Splashbucks at any dining services register, or by

Wavebuck$ at any Tulane athletics game during November 16th-23rd. This week, I’m so excited to attend the 2nd annual Tabasco Day at Bruff Commons Dining Room! On Wednesday, November 6th between 11am – 2pm, Sodexo is teaming up with Tabasco to throw a bash benefitting Café Reconcile. There will be a reduced price for guests that day ($6 cash only), and all cash sales will be donated to Café Reconcile. In addition, Tabasco will be matching this cash donation. A Tabasco themed menu will be featured at every station. On Thursday, Bruff All-Star, Chef Toni Jacobs will be making her delicious Stuffed Mushrooms and Crab Cakes at the My Kitchen station for Bruff’s Kitchen.
