Interested in learning more about ISK’s governance? Thinking of standing for election to the Board of Directors? Have you ever wondered how ISK’s two-tiered board structure works?… Or about the difference between board policies and operational procedures?… Or how the two boards plan for the future of the school, while providing resources to meet current needs?… Or how membership on the Board of Directors is determined? Are you aware that there are three categories of membership for the Board of Directors—parent-elected, embassy-appointed, and Board-appointed?
On Thursday, January 21 (3:30 to 4:30 p.m.) there will be a Governance Orientation session at ISK. This brief session is intended for either stakeholders who want to learn more about how ISK is governed, or for parents who are thinking of standing for election to the Board of Directors in the March/April election process. Venue: Commons conference room. Wishing all ISK families a relaxing holiday and a rewarding 2016!
On behalf of all our teachers, staff and administrators, I wish you a wonderful family holiday! May your new year begin full of dreams, and continue full of peace and good health. And to the Armtoft, Elder, Choi, Habteab, Lee, Peregrino and Veldkkemp families who are leaving ISK, I hope your memories of ISK nurture you as you begin the next stage of your lives! John Roberts
