If you've been out recently for a bite to eat, you
may have noticed more canines tagging along
with their owners.
Thanks to Paws on Patios, an organization
started in 2010 that made it possible for
Houston restaurants to get permitting from the
city to allow dogs at outdoor tables, more than
two dozen restaurants now welcome our canine
friends.
For those of us who like to enjoy a nice day
with our dogs and a delicious meal, there are
some great Houston eateries with dog-friendly
patios. These places have great food and great
spaces in which you and your dog can dine

October is National Adopt-A-Dog Month
Two of the largest animal welfare organizations
are encouraging people to adopt, not shop, for their next family dog with a special month-long celebration commemorating all the shelter and
rescue dogs out there who are still looking for a home.
The American Society for the Prevention of
Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) and the American
Humane Association (AHA) have designated the month of October as National Adopt a

ou may have heard the story of Lentil, a

For pups who are born with an affected hard or soft palate (roof of their mouth), there are certain veterinary specialists that
are able to surgically repair the cleft once they are old enough and their face and jaw
