new collection for AW20 – Reverie.

Like a kaleidoscope, watch colours and shapes ever-shifting and changing, spinning in the light. A delightful celebration of the abstract, Urban Road’s latest collection is a wild and wonderful assembling of artworks designed to propel you into dreamy nostalgia, yet simultaneously provokes inspiring new thoughts. Find yourself falling into a fanciful daydream filled with topsyturvy memories – where nothing is quite as it seems, and everything is as you want it to be – lost in Reverie.

Delicate skyscapes emerge from beautifully blended watercolour brush strokes; crystalline shapes of colour and texture overlap, forming bright and brilliant abstracts in an endless variety of patterns; and exquisite, hand-painted illustrations bring even the most fantastical daydreams to life.

The artworks assemble to create a collection that is mesmerising and ever-changing – a kaleidoscope of designs that constantly shift and move, continuously bringing new perspective and inspiration.

Drawing inspiration from two of the 20th century’s greatest abstract minds – Serge Poliakoff and Joan Mitchell – Urban Road’s Creative Director, Suzie Atkin, has used her superior design eye to spin her own kaleidoscope of creative magic, producing a collection that invites you to see the world through a new lens, where surrealism and sophistication are synonymous.

With a range of abstract pairings that span a tremendous spectrum of colours – from richly saturated vibrants, to warm, earthy neutrals – this diverse and visually striking collection presents itself like a mosaic of polychromatic stained glass built from prismatic shapes; fragments of pattern and texture magnified in the sunlight.
