Chimney Pot Park is a community of awardwinning upside down houses in Salford. Urban Splash has brought the terraced house slap bang up to date. The best bits have been kept – the size, the shape, the roof, the front door, the streets, but with the help of architects shedkm, the insides are something altogether new. Retaining original facades and streetscapes and introducing a new steel frame construction behind has allowed the best use of space. What was once an unused alleyway behind the houses has become secure undercroft carparking spaces, with generous terraces for each house built on top.
