Agra Metro: Sam India Builtwell commences Casting of U-Girders for Priority Corridor

Sam India Builtwell team has started casting of 28 meters U-Girders at its Bamrauli Casting Yard for 4-km section f Priority Corridor (Jama Masjid – Taj Mahal Ramp) of Agra Metro Rail Project from July 28, 2021. The casting yard consists of 4 U-Girder casting beds from where 196 170MT U-girders will be cast to build the line’s elevated viaduct which forms a bulk of the 7 km Priority Corridor between Jama Masjid – Taj East Gate. In October 2020, Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) had awarded a contract worth Rs 272.95 to Sam India Builtwell for the construction of 4-km elevated stretch between Taj East Gate Station – Taj Mahal Ramp under Package AGCC-01 for Line 1 of Agra Metro Rail Project. Construction activities started in November, 2020.

Ahmedabad Metro: Tata Projects-CCECC JV launches final precast segment for Phase 1

The workers of Tata Projects Ltd – China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (TPL-CCECC) JV on July 3, 2021 had launched the final precast segment on 298.20m Sabarmati Bridge for Phase 1 of Ahmedabad Metro. This bridge is comprises of 8 piers with 7 spans ranging between 38.2m to 43.8m.

Ahmedabad Metro: Ranjit Buildcon launches first Pier Cap for Phase 2

The workers of Rajnit Buildcon has launched first Peir Cap at Radesan Road for 28.254 km Phase 2 of Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project on July 9, 2021. A total of 195 pier caps with a length of 9800 mm and weight of 65T are planned to be launched for 6.478 km Package C2 (GNLU to Gandhinagar Sector-1).

Delhi Metro: CMRS carried safety inspection of Dhansa Bus Stand Extension Line

The Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety (CMRS) has carried out safety inspection of 1.218 km Najafgarh –Dhansa Bus Stand Extension of Grey Line on July 7, 2021. The team visually inspected underground twin tunnels, tracks, tunnel ventilation system, and all features of Dhansa Bus Stand Station such as its PA system, signage, escalators, elevators, safety features, drinking water facilities, station access and control room.

Kanpur Metro: Sterling & Wilson–GSC CC begins Third Rail installation works for Priority Corridor

The project workers of Sterling & Wilson and GSC Construction Company JV have started installation of

750V Third Rail Electrification System for Priority Corridor (IIT Kanpur – Motijheel). In November 2020, UPMRC had awarded a contract worth Rs 419.14 crore contract to Sterling & Wilson and GSC Construction Company JV.

Kanpur Metro: Afcons Infrastructure begins load test of civil structure on Priority Corridor

Afcons Infrastructure team started ‘Load Testing’ of the elevated civil structure on 9-km Priority Corridor (IIT Kanpur – Motijheel) of Kanpur Metro Rail Project on July 12, 2021. First Metro Depot-cum-Workshop of Kanpur Metro Rail Project at Govt. Polytechnic is being readied to receive train sets from Alstom in September this year. Work is being carried out on full pace.

Mumbai Metro: MMRC achieves 39th Tunnel Breakthrough of Metro Line-3

Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) has achieved 39th Tunnel Breakthrough of Mumbai Metro’s Line 3 on July 21, 2021. This achievement was recorded by Tunnel Boring Machine 1239 (nicknamed Tansa 2) operated by the workers of Doğuş-Soma JV. A total of 42 tunnels have been planned to complete the entire underground corridor (Line 3) of Mumbai Metro Rail Project.

Pune Metro: Tata Projects-Gulermak JV celebrates final breakthrough at Budhwar Peth Station

The project team of Tata Projects Ltd and Gulermak have achieved final tunnel breakthrough at Budhwar Peth Metro Station on July 23, 2021. This achievement was recorded by Tunnel Boring Machines S-78 (Mutha) and S-79 (Mula) under 3.78 km package UGC-01 of Pune Metro Rail Project.
