We as humans been on Earth for over 10,000 years. But: we did not start retiring till 1889 in Germany. Back then we retired then we lived for couple of years then we died. During those years we lived we usually lived near our kids and grandkids. But; over the last 50 years many things have change. Our children now are living in different cities due to better economic opportunities for themselves. The life expectancy of person in 1900 was 47 years old. While now it’s 78 years old due to advancement of science. Even with the advancement of science we still get sick. We have strokes, cancer, Parkinson’s, diabetes or we have mental illnesses like Alzheimer’s or dementia. We all know 1 person who might have any of those diseases. So, there is 2 questions I ask you? Who is going to help you when you need assistance? And How are going to pay for their assistance? When we are talk about who is going to help us with assistance the 1 thing we thing of is our family our spouse, kids, grand kids or other family members. Before we assume that they are going to take care of us we need to ask few questions. Can they help me? If you need 24 hour care do your family members have the time to assist you in bathing, eating or dressing to name a few. Do they live close enough to help you on day to day operation? Do they have the health to take care of you? The 2nd think you should ask is do they personality to take of me? Do they have the patience to take care of me or are they impatient? The last question is do they have money to take care of you. If they are bread winner of their primary family how can they
take excessive time off to take care of you? If they are allowed to take the time off can do they afford to take care of you, 4, 8, 12 or 24 hours a day? If we don’t think of our primary family members to assist us we usually look at another relative for help that family member is Uncle Sam. We think, “Hey I been paying him all these years he should help out.” But; that is not necessarily the case. It will help us with our health insurance once we hit a certain age with Medicaid and Medical but; he won’t help us with assistance of our day to day lives unless we do a few things. Here are the few things. We must spend all of our hard earn money and assets before he assist us or we must put those things in special trust 3 years prior to needing his assistance. Have you ever seen Uncle Sam facilities? They are not exactly the Ritz Carlton.
Finance
Who is going to Take Care of You When you Need Assistance?
The other thing that comes to mind when we think of assistance is we are going to pay for it ourselves. We are balling! We saved enough money in our lives that we can afford to pay for assistance. I am glad you can afford assistance. The question you must ask yourself is how long and how much can afford for assistance at my house. If not at my house at a facility? Can I afford to pay $20,000$105k in assistance? Depending on how much help I need. The last idea we think about when we ask who is going to help me is insurance. Yes, long term care insurance cost and so does assistance. But; there is more than just your normal long term care insurance that can give you insurance for assistance. There are life insurance policies that have a rider that allows the death benefit to pay for long term care and so does annuities. I am not saying that long term care insurance is answer. What I am saying is when thinking about retirement don’t just think about travelling around the world, starting a new hobby or golfing every day. But; ask the question who is going to assist me when I need help? No man or woman is island by themselves. Follow Mr. Jason : @mfisguru Email: matthewsfinancial@gmail.com Phone: (510)229-7608

By channeling emotions, experiences, beauty, and awareness into my artwork, it serves as a stepping stone to long-term transformation, personal growth, and the well-being of myself and others who interact with and enjoy my art. Drawing is an integral part of my artistic process. Even when I paint, I spend about 90% of the time drawing first. This is where I find my artistic expression and enjoy the freedom to challenge and experiment with new ideas. Although I can draw in any dry media, I favor colored ink drawing for its precision, color saturation, and as my study method for painting. Most problems in painting can be worked out through the development of strong drawing skills. Drawing also helps me to bring color and joy into the moment.

Antoine Dunn Antoine Dunn, what can be said. Upon first hearing this Cleveland born musician, one’s mind goes back. There are elements within his sound that are reminiscent of the early sounds of R&B, a time when the contents of the song were expressed by the singer in ways that became…timeless. Antoine’s ability to take that essence and fast forward to today’s music scene is nothing short of, well a blessing! Listening to tracks from his album “Truth of the Matter” reinforces this, showing an artist that has watched and listened to those that have paved the way in R&B and Gospel, while still honing his craft. Coming off a successful performance at the 19th Annual Urban Wheel Awards at the Detroit Garden Theater, we had the opportunity to learn more about his music, his sound, and where good R&B has been….
Written By C Digsby Photos courtesy of APM PUBLIC RELATIONS
What is important to you in writing music? I’d say that honesty, purity, and subject matter that is relatable among many are at the top of my list when it comes to songwriting. I believe that people gravitate towards what is true no matter what; so that's why 90% of my work stems from true life experiences. I was always fascinated by the strength that can come from allowing yourself to be vulnerable.
In “Miss My Love” the song and the video concept reminds you of the early soulful days of Motown, even down to the car in the video and your ensemble! Would you say that your connection to rich soul is correct? Absolutely! I’ve been inundated with my parents Motown collection since conception. lol. It was only natural that the influences from the 70’s found their way into some of the music that I write. Those records really became a part of my spirit musically, and as a person.
Antoine, your aunt Veronica, how has her influence directed your sound and ability in music? My Aunts influence has directed my abilities more so than it has affected my sound. She always inspired me through her words of wisdom and ensuring me that good things just take time. She would often say, “You’ll get there…” Those three words go a long way when you’re running a marathon in the music business. lol. It’s just not easy sometimes.
38
So let’s talk about your upcoming single “I’m Gonna Love You” describe to us the concept behind the song Wow. I’d say that "I’m Gonna Love You" is the opening chapter to a new book in the life of Antoine Dunn. The musical composition tells its own story independently of the lyrics. I’m so excited about it! The song holistically speaks to a surrendering of one's self to believing in love - even if it is for one last time. Love - like life is not easy, but necessary. So I think all the people out there will enjoy it. Find someone to love and hang in there. lol.
You mentioned in an interview that you thought good R&B didn’t go anywhere, but that the spotlight changed from pure music to making a buck. 2017, where is good R&B now? I still believe that good authentic music is still here. Look at artists like KEM, John Legend, and John Mayer. Sometimes - like a good woman…You don’t always find her on the surface, but she’s that diamond in the rough that's always been there. I can’t speak for the rest of the industry, but I plan on continuing to make music from my soul that will be in the spotlight. That’s why I always say that Antoine Dunn is #WhereGoodMusicLives.
So with that said, 2012 was the dropping of “Truth of the Matter” then you put out your sophomore album in 2013 “I AM”, you’ve had the opportunity to work with Anthony Hamilton, Estelle, Kem, Keith Sweat, and others. You garnered time in the industry so tell us, what is next? Again, this is a new chapter for me and my fans to grow. The new single, "I’m Gonna Love You" is HUGE, but just the beginning. I’ve had a lot of time to be in my thoughts and really get ready to step back into the spotlight. I’m Ready. You can plan on hearing and seeing a lot more of me very soon!
Again your sound is rich and very reminiscent of the early soul stirrings that laid the foundation today. If you could travel back through time to collab with one of those artists, who would it be? hmmm…That's tough! lol lol. All in all, I’d have to say “Stevie Wonder.” I feel like we’d have a lot in common musically, plus I performed for him back home in Cleveland and he’s just such a nice guy!

Who is
Kareesh Forreal? by Mr. Urban
In her own words…… A multifaceted entertainer & business woman. I’m a down to earth and caring individual who has been through so much & captivate each experience and tell the story through my music or whatever I can use to connect with my fans. I love sports, to travel, & take advantage of any opportunity to be a positive impact. I love all forms of art. I love to learn new things. Well we know that you are a competitor, with a long standing history in Track and Field, has that drive, that desire to win, carried over into your work as an artist? Yes, it has. It is symbolic to me... discipline, drive, to be dogmatic, aware of the competition, yet be the best ME, IN MY OWN LANE. Consistency will allow me to cross the finish line and be at the top with a medal. Along the way, I continue to gain fans, momentum and victory. I’m always prepared no matter what the obstacles of the unknown may be.
“To be successful in obtaining your dream, consistency is the key to reaching that.”
We had the opportunity to hear some of your work, such as Naked Kisses, Ain’t Built for You, and of course Life of the Party , which is banging! Seems to have that club hit mixed with anthem type vibe…. You gotta tell us what was the inspiration behind it! THANK YOU! I wanted to make my own sound. It’s an infusion of me, my experiences ...something for everything. I'm an international artist and I fell in love with the elements of old school hip-hop, studying, working, and/or meetings with pioneers of the industry. I also wanted to have a lighter note of having a good time vs the music glorifying death, sex, & drugs. Who is working with you on these tracks? Tell us your dream team! I'm also a writer, so you get that. I've collaborated with Maximus of Maximus Studios (Life of the Party). We co-wrote that song. The production process of the track was monumental, as we sat there together creating the elements of my homage to old school hip-hop/international & LA flair/Pop. I'm now experimenting with the production process, learning from Grammy nominated producer, QZ Da Musiqman. He's worked with various artists such as Calvin Richardson, Fantasia, to name a few. Other producers, Joe Breezie, Leomonza Production, have also contributed to my project, so I’m grateful to express my own sound and vision, bringing it to life. All tracks are customized for KAREESH. So between orchestrating myself or with the help of Kevin Fox, and my manager, Sammle McCall, I've been fortunate. I am very hands on, in a positive way, with my project to ensure my vision is executed. I have some other things in the works with notable music industry individuals that are very promising.
What is your perception of the industry today? I feel that it has definitely commercialized the music, yet stripping the essential essence of music.
Musician, VJ , Spokesperson, Model, what else can Kareesh do? I mean, what else is in store for you in this industry sis? LOL. I am a writer (plays/music/poetry), I am an actress also, and an artist (sketching painting, etc.) I put my all into what I am interested in and fully go into research, studying, and hands on to see if this is something that I like and voila! In this industry, you will see me as an actress, and also behind the scenes in production (music, live shows,) and a few Kareesh products. Some call me the female version of Jamie Foxx...LOL you are witnessing a mogul in the making. I'm also hosting one of my projects, Music Is My Sweetheart (c) talent competition. For all ages, uniting and healing through music. Parting words for our readers, pearls of wisdom that you could drop to those that are working hard to get to your level? I would like to take this time to thank all of my team and inner circle. I would say that a person who feels that they can do it all without the help of others is insane, you won't win. You will need a team that really is there for you, believe and respect you and your vision. A lot of people have dreams. This journey takes a lot of time, sacrifice, true investment (includes monetary) and it's not overnight success. Overnight success in industry terms is a minimum of 7-10 years of dedicated and proven work. To be successful in obtaining your dream, consistency is the key to reaching that. Don't be discouraged, be true with yourself. If something is not working, find ways to make it better or a derivative of that. And most of all, stay grounded and focused and balance, spiritually, mentally, and physically. Kareesh Forreal E.A. of Certified Entertainment VP of Certified Media Group 704.390.3712

She notes that her book was a personal victory and an inspiring guide using her own life lessons, “I’ve always loved writing. I’ve kept a journal since I was a twelve. So, it’s always been a part of my life. My journals turned into poems, and my poems turned into songs. I have about 15 or 20 journals now. I had this book in my mind for some time now, and I really wanted it to be a documentary, and then I thought, “How do you touch more people?” It’s really getting the book out so women can hold it in their hand because it’s really a workbook. Not that I’m an expert, but here, learn from my mistakes. Sometimes we learn by falling on our own face, and sometimes if we’re smart we’ll learn from other people’s mistakes, and I have made enough for everybody. Well, being married two or three times now, I really have begun to understand that you really have to look at yourself. I have to look at myself. First and foremost, I’m the common denominator between all of them.

When I look back on my decision making, I really have to address the fact that I really wasn’t exactly honest with myself or fair with myself because I knew all three times when I said, “yes” although I did love Kadeem very much, but when we got married it wasn’t the apex of our relationship. You know, it wasn’t really the time that I was like, “Oh, yes! I’m ready to get married. I was thinking “Maybe I shouldn’t do that right now.” All three times, I have really felt afterward that I had made a mistake. Although this is funny, I love Kadeem so much. He’s really my friend and the father of my daughter. He had become a great friend and it’s hard to kind of clump him in with everybody, but, I did get married at a time that I really didn’t think I was supposed to get married, to me. I have been through a few marriages and I really wanted to look at me and not anyone else for responsibility. I want to take responsibility for my action, my thoughts, my future, and myself. Being single again has made me look at myself and become honest, make different choices, and have a different outcome from what I’ve had instead of doing the same thing a few times over. I don’t want to make the same mistakes and have the same issues over and over again. Although she’s an awesome singer, Chante still has to find the balance between commonality, family, and business, “Well, first of all, priorities are very important, and if you keep them straighter, you’ll probably have less of a problem, although we all have our shortcomings in the times in which we feel overwhelmed. As a working woman, especially, I know that we all feel that. Any woman that goes to work at any point feels guilty for leaving their kid. The reality of it all is that I’m a working progress as well as my kids are first. They are first in my thoughts although sometimes they aren’t first in my choice because I have to go to work. It’s not like I can say, “Well, I love my kids so much, I’m not gonna go to work today.” I have to go to work and support the house because I’m the provider. I have to provide love when I’m with them and money when I’m not with them and to be responsible. It’s a balancing act for all working moms and working dads as well. Some dads are good at putting their hands in, and being good parents as well.” Chante confirms that she’s had her moments of clarity while on this journey as a consistent songstress and that many women have that if they understand the power that they have even when they don’t use it. “I will say mainly realizing that I have the power to change my future. It’s not just about looking at the past and saying “you know what? That sucks!” I really want to get in a place that I can be more positive towards myself because I punish me when I think I’ve made bad decisions. I have a hard time forgiving myself. That to me was the biggest step, forgiving
myself, or making conscious choices that were not the best for me.” Moore has an identity that can’t be shaken. She is human and makes human error just like anyone else. “I’m still a work in progress. I don’t think by any means that I have hit the plateau that I’m supposed to be on. But, I do feel very successful with my career being that I’ve been doing this for 20-years. It’s been professionally. You know a lot of people have been singing for a long time and making a living at it. I’m really grateful that I have been able to make a living doing what I love. I’m extremely resilient. Most of the time I’m in a positive place, but not always, we get a little low emotionally. Sometimes it’s just hard to say, “Oh, I’m fine. Everything is fine.” Because we got to put on that face for the world and they are usually watching. And it’s not always easy to smile when your heart is breaking.” The inspiring moments are pivotal in a successor’s life. You really need that memory and extra fire to push yourself to the next stages, and Chante declares those moments openly, “Some of the first and most exciting moments have been when I first came out. That was really a time that I enjoyed doing what I do, and my ideas were all fresh and brand new. But that was one of the best times of my life. The beginning when I got to do the Apollo, those kinds of moments are insurmountable, unbeatable, incomparable, you know whatever the word that use for that. I’d love to work with Prince again and I would love to be live on stage with him, Maxwell, Alicia Keys, Drake, and the list goes on. There are so many great artists out there. The list is endless. I believe that’s what makes you new again, it’s working with new people. You can’t just be in your own box and expect to grow. We’re all just shifting and changing and growing. I love it. I think now is really exciting. I get to look at life completely new. It’s all a new experience because the internet has changed so much and the industry; and I’m doing a different part of entertainment with the play. I feel like I’m still growing and it’s a new plateau for me. It’s exciting for the angle now that I get to have.” Oh, how we love updates! Chante gives us the rundown on her current endeavors, “Well, the play is an adaptation of the book. It’s not that I’m doing other peoples plays. I am doing my book and it’s a one woman show. So, that’s what I’m working on now. The first opening night is the 6th of January. It’s really an amazing thing because I get to sing act and dance. It’s going to be so much fun exploring the theatrical side of myself and really hone that part of my craft. I have a CD coming out with new songs and some remakes of my old songs because of the one woman show.”

Is there a diva onset of the TV-One reality serious, “R &B Divas?” Well, absolutely, and we get the lowdown about those happenings. “It’s on TVone. I don’t really love it. Um, it’s a very strange little animal. It’s very weird because it is reality. But, it’s always a strain and a thought to make sure nothing really crazy happens onscreen cause you’ll never live it down. That’s a little weird sometimes because I’m a really spontaneous person, and luckily thank the Lord; I don’t do and say things I don’t mean. So, that helps a whole heck of a lot. Because if you expect stuff and say things out loud, you can get in big trouble on TV. If I could change something on TV, I wouldn’t do a show like this, I’d do a show more deliberately uplifting.
“My mother taught me, “Take what you learned and give it to the world. That’s your gift to the world.”
I would do “Will I Marry Me” as a reality show, helping women gain perspective. I would do something a little more authentically positive. You know with six girls, and six divas, anything is liable to happen, and it does. My mom passed on 20-years ago, unfortunately. I have never done anything really that I’m embarrassed of. I’ve been in the industry for a while. I know what you do, stays with you and it affects people in your life. I try to be a woman of integrity on and off screen so I don’t change into anyone else because the cameras are rolling. Because of that, I always try to make my mother proud even though she’s not even on this earth anymore. She’s in heaven. My dad lives with me. I have children and I tell them how to live a positive life. Who would I be, and what kind of hypocrite would I be if I were on TV acting a fool, and so I don’t.” That one thing that sits with you that you never forget.” Thank God for our mothers and their wisdom! “Oh, there is so many things that she said. She definitely was the one that encouraged me to be a singer and be successful no matter what I chose. My mother always told me, “Wash your face every night. Always wash your face, and be a woman of integrity. Stand by what you do and what you say. The other thing she said was is being deliberate because sometimes we can halfhazard run through life, and if you don’t make the choice and you aren’t going to stand for it. You aren’t going to have a future you want if you’re going to wait for it to come to you. You really do have to fight for your rights as a person, fight for your rights as a woman, fight for your rights as an entertainer, and a writer. I really believe it’s necessary to be clear about what my future is and the choices that are really proactive.” Well, we all have roots, “I grew up listening to gospel music, and we could only listen to gospel music because my dad wouldn’t allow it. So, I listened to Andre Crouch and the Hawkins singers, but I didn’t miss what I didn’t know what was out there. I didn’t even know who Chaka Khan was until I was 14. My brother when he turned 18-years-old, was allowed to listen to music in the garage. When he went in the garage, I started going in the garage. For the first time, I heard Prince, Minnie Ripperton, Chaka, and Stevie Wonder, I was blown away. It was a whole other world that I missed.”
been enough that I feel valued industry wise. People make the difference. They really make the ultimate difference. They make the grind, the sacrifice, and being away from home, worth it.” Chante has philanthropic plights that you didn’t even know about, “My mother’s name was Virginia. So, I started a foundation called “Virginia’s Girls.” It’s a nonprofit organization for women that want to be encouraged emotionally and physically. First of all before my mom died, she was involved with encouraging young ladies that were in a halfway home as well as unwed mothers that were runaways and had nowhere else to go. My mother was always at the jail, and doing selfesteem classes. From her teaching me, I’ve been able to teach other women from what I go through, it makes a difference. You get through something, like hardships, and you really do have a perspective that’s totally different from when someone speaks about something and never does it. My mother taught me, “Take what you learned and give it to the world. That’s your gift to the world.” Music is more than the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s 8-track phase. It actually evolved. “People have more power now, and can put out a record and the record company doesn’t even need to be a part of it. It didn’t used to be like that. That part has really changed. There are lots of new sounds and there are so many artists out there. I think that’s a good thing that anytime you can gain power over your own life and make positive choices on your own behalf, that’s a plus. Sometimes when you look at it, it’s so weird and so different. But, I don’t mind it being different.” February is the month of reinvention, “February is my birthday and I’ll be thirty again! I love it! I’m going to do the encore 30 until they stop asking for it!
“I’ve been honored to do this for a living, and it’s not that people had to support, they just have and it’s been a blessing for me. I really enjoy the fact that people still supported me. There are people that have just come and gone and we don’t even remember their name. You might remember the song, or their name and not the song. I’ve been grateful to be able to do this for a living, so I say, “Thank you.” Don’t forget to buy my latest album, “Moore is Moore.” It’s out now on ITunes, and Amazon.com. The book is “Will I Marry Me?” The concept is to embrace who you are and not forget that Chante leaves forget me nots: “First of all, I love Jesus. you aren’t a total of what you’ve done, but you are a part, and you can grow from your mistakes and not be The second thing is that my music helps people a victim of your mistakes.
