Business Interview Tip of the Day: DIFFERENTIATE YOUR PERSONAL LIFE FROM YOUR PROFESSIONAL LIFE!!!! When an interviewer says, "Tell me about yourself", they are NOT referring to your personal life. They are strictly referring to your professional background in regards to your skills, experience, and 2-3 reasons why you are the best candidate for the position. Example: Job Title: Full Desk Executive Recruiter Interviewer: "So La Keisha, tell me a little about yourself." La Keisha: " With over 6 years of solid experience in Human Resources, I am the ideal candidate for this role because of my thorough knowledge within Recruiting, Business Development, and Salary Negotiating. Some of my relevant skills include the ability to build beneficial client relationships which will help increase the company's overall client business along with my ability to conduct precise industry job market research to stay informed with today's salary expectations.
12.
With La Keisha N. Calvin
With this research, I am able to recruit some of the most top and highly preferred employees (both locally and nationally) which will assist in meeting the company's overall bottom line while saving the company money and time. I am a forward thinker who consistently provides uncompromising results due to proper planning both proactively and efficiently .......... The above response is an actual response I use to give when interviewing with companies. Although written, it seems a lot, however it only is a 20 second response on who I am, the type of work I am able to perform, and why I am the best, not good, but the best for the job. So for my job seekers who are going on upcoming interviews, keep it short and sweet, but most importantly, keep it PROFESSIONAL!!! #LetsGetHired Respectfully, La Keisha N. Calvin, MBA 704-920-8711 (c) La Keisha N. Calvin is a highly sought, highly recognized professional recruiter with years of experience assisting professionals and companies connect!

By Daniel DiQuinzio Kelly’s feminine frame leaned out of the front window of the bagel hut. It was located on Liacouras Walk, which was located within the Temple University main campus in North Philadelphia. Her dark pink fingernails rubbed against the window ledge. Her lips bore a matching shade of lipstick. She wore blue jeans and a low cut grey long grey shirt. “Next customer.” She shouted. A young man wearing a dark grey messenger bag over his shoulder stepped forward. His name was Isaac. Kelly had gone out with him the past weekend. “Hello Isaac.” She said. Her voice was laced with a slight hint of frustration. “What can I get you?” “I’ll have a sesame bagel.” “Anything on it?”
20.
“Cream chesses and sliced tomato.” “Anything to drink?” “A small black coffee.” Kelly made a note on her blue order pad. She slid the order over to her mother who was currently the resident cook. A middle aged married couple previously owned the hut. They sold it last year when they decided to retire from the food service business and enjoy the warmer climates that existed beyond the tri state area. Her father, a retired chef bought it from them. Her parents alternated as the hut’s chef. Kelly worked in the hut on a par time basis to help pay for the cost of her tuition at Temple University. Her brother also worked in it when not in school. She leaned forward. “Its been over a week since we went out Isaac. You said you would called me but I haven’t heard from you.” “I know. “ “Normally when you tell a girl you’ll call her tomorrow she expects that she’ll hear from you within a few days at the most.” “I’m sorry. I’ve been overworked with midterm exams for the past week.” “That’s all right, the last week’s been the same for me Isaac with midterms and the week long midterm caffeine rush. But a girl doesn’t like tot be kept waiting for two long.” “Would you like to go out some time next weekend?” “Yes.” “Does Sunday night work for you Kelly?” “I have to work first thing the next morning.” She smiled. “But I’m free on Saturday night.” “I’ll call you when you get back from your evening class tonight Kelly.”

Kisha Green is no stranger to the literary world. She is the owner of DivaBooksInc, the author of several titles, literary consultant, and promoter. As the host of Writer's Life Chats, an online radio show, Green interviews aspiring and seasoned authors. Green is also an avid reader, proofreader and book reviewer whose reviews have appeared on Amazon, Goodreads, Urban Book Source, Shelfari and other notable sites.
For readers of the Literary Treasures column, you know that Kisha Green prides herself on showcasing some of literary’s finest and what better platform than this to highlight the multi -talented columnist. She spends a lot of time interviewing different people but this time she is in the interview seat and she recently sat down with Award winning author and entrepreneur, J.M. Benjamin who not only is a client but also a friend, so who else would be better to conduct an interview that will ultimately give readers a more in-depth look into who Kisha Green is.

JMB: Social media has become an essential in our lives. Nowadays it is almost mandatory to have a strong social site presence. Many emerge daily, trying to do what it is you have been doing for years. How do you set yourself apart from others and remain relevant in your line of work?
KG: (Laughs) that is so funny to me. Every time I speak to someone they immediately say KISHAGREEN and for branding purposes, this is great because I want people to know me for all of the different literary hats I wear and when those titles are mentioned, I want my name to immediately come to mind. I have been feverish working on this since I entered the industry. Style and Fashion
We wanted to see some styles for some of the Summer events going on. Something that spoke volume and turned heads upon arrival. A visit to LeMond Crayton-Hart’s boutique yielded several pieces put together and a heartfelt testimony…. He reminisces on how his band teacher from Independence High School, set him on his path to become a well known, highly sought after stylist, and literally saved his life! “If it wasn’t for his concern and belief in me, I don’t know where I would be now.” “That’s why I tell everyone, this is my ministry, so I can be a blessing to someone, help just that one special person, the way my teacher helped me!” #StayDapperMyFriends!!

Currently an independent fashion model with an impressive homegrown fan base she is stepping into the R&B music world and toting her fan base along with her. "Amnesia" was born when songwriter Luc Lang approached Claudia about music he was currently penning. He simply requested her to demo the material but upon hearing Amenesia Claudia was immediately drawn to it, identified with it and requested it to be released as her single. Mr Sef was approached in the matter and agreed to help put the song together to make it a certified hit! Amnesia is expected to rush swiftly through Bay Area cities and leave listeners with a woozy feeling in anticipation on what will come next from Miss Claudia Nelson.

Conya Doss kicked off Memorial Day weekend with a premeditated explosion. She released her brawny, and emotionally charged album entitled “VII Seven" on May 19, 2015. If excitement from the LP wasn’t enough, Conya gave her fans a double dose of harmonious flare. She hit the stage at the "ATL Soul Life Music Fest" with an entourage of exceptional artist, including the Foreign Exchange, Eric Roberson, Chrisette Michelle, Lyfe Jennings and Kindred the Family Soul at the Wolf-Creek Theater in Atlanta, Georgia from May 23rd until May 24th. It was a two day extravaganza. And boy-- was it a weekend to remember!

We caught them during lunchtime on a Saturday. The atmosphere was warm outside, with the chance of rain, so we opted to dine inside. Staff were running around, some chatting among themselves. Our server saw that we had not been waited on and apologized for that. He was on point from that moment forward. We ordered appetizers, two orders of the sweet tea wings, dry rubbed and Newcastle BBQ, the farm green salad, which consisted of Granny smith green apples, julienne carrots, shaved red onion, house
made buttery croutons & sherry vinaigrette, then ordered the sherry glazed Brussel sprouts. Our waiter stated that they used to serve the brussel sprouts with sriraccha sauce, and did not know why the chef changed it. He must’ve known my affinity to the spicy food, so he brought a bottle over for me to dip the sprouts in…gastonomical bliss let me tell you! The pricing was more than affordable, as we decided to return for dinner and with friends. Best to get here before the evening rush, as people started coming in steadily after we left. UT rates them: 3.5 out of 5 stars (only because of the other staff acting unprofessional)
