Location DESCRIPTION The reuse of historic industrial buildings that have remained unused, empty or even abandoned has been and is a current theme. Industrialization during the late 19th and 20th centuries has left examples of industrial buildings within the urban structure. These, though often seen as urban gaps, have the potential to become redeveloped knots. The purpose of this research topic is to discover that as part of an industrial complex, in our case, the Stalin Textile Kombinat could be transformed into an active social area for the Kombinat neighborhood and for the entire city of Tirana. This study is based on the literature that exists in the verse of two constructed theories about the environment: the quality of life and the adaptation of buildings. The proposal is a prototype for testing the quality of life indicators, in creating a sustainable structure for adapting and reusing the industrial zone of the ex Kombinat. The result is a wider neighborhood plan and a detailed plan for study facilities. The new design is based on maximizing the quality of life and achieving social sustainability for the neighborhood and surrounding areas. Literature and study of similar cases, different indicators and methods of public participation have played a very important role in the development of program and design.

The Historical Description of the Factory and the Concept of Its Transformation into the Market The factory was built in 1956 and was one of the first three factories to be built in the industrial complex. This building is part of the SHED building. The outer appearance is characterized by an original shape determined by the shape of the cover and its lanterns.

The market as a city

The concept of market organization based in the city structure. The city within the market is created by placing a center in the middle of the building, the neighborhoods that surround it, and the connecting paths between them. Movement and activities as in the city are created by the many axes that permeate the object, pedestrian, squares, shopping centers, etc.
