ABOUT OUR PRESIDENT

President Robyn Hannigan

President Robyn Hannigan is a distinguished scholar, entrepreneur, and visionary leader who became Ursinus’s 19th president in 2022.

Robyn’s passion for liberal education, student success, and holistic well-being has informed her strategic framework for the college, aimed at bolstering access and retention, undergraduate research endeavors, and community engagement.

Driven by a spirit of innovation, President Hannigan is an accomplished environmental scientist who founded several start-up companies alongside her students, and she remains an active, prolific researcher and mentor. Robyn is dedicated to opening doors of opportunity for her students, forging meaningful partnerships that endure over time, thereby encouraging Ursinus students to become creative leaders and problem solvers in our ever-evolving society.

Under President Robyn Hannigan’s leadership:

• Added new Bloomberg Terminals to Myrin Library, allowing students to receive and analyze real-time financial data.

• Joined the American Talent Initiative, an alliance of 135 higher education institutions dedicated to increasing college access, affordability, and success for all students.

• Added new majors, including Performing and Visual Arts Design and Technology, Music Technology, Creative Writing, Business Economics, and Health Sciences.

• Upgraded campus dining experience, including building renovations.

• Signed the Okanagan Charter as its first liberal arts college.

Interdisciplinary Academics

Students thrive when multiple interests connect and influence each other. Combining disciplines such as business and chemistry, or history and media studies, helps students gain multiple perspectives, find innovative solutions, and open the future to new possibilities.

Experiential Learning and Career Preparation

Entrepreneurial opportunities, inquiry-based courses, undergraduate research, civic engagement, and workforce experience are all built into the curriculum at Ursinus. We proactively work with our students to bridge the undergraduate experience with career placement and graduate school preparation.

We invite you to invest in current and future Ursinus students.

Here, students step off the path of their predetermined futures in favor of something new. Where first-generation students write their own legacies. Where a tight-knit community strives toward one common goal: to leave our campus, our region, and our world better than we find it today. Scholarships are crucial to continuing Ursinus’s long history of educating students who reflect the whole of society, not just those able to pay the full cost of tuition.

SCHOLARSHIPS

Financial Aid

99% of all Ursinus students receive some form of financial aid.

$76 MILLION Ursinus’s investment into providing financial aid for the 2023-24 school year.

$41,007 Average aid for first-year students for the 2023-24 school year.

$37,546 Average aid for transfer students for the 2023-24 school year.

Endowed Scholarships

An endowed scholarship makes college possible for ambitious, high-achieving students by providing a steady stream of financial support in perpetuity. They help Ursinus recruit the best and brightest students, regardless of socioeconomic background. When an endowed scholarship fund is established, a portion of investment income from the gift is spent each year, while the principal of the gift continues to grow.

Endowed full scholarships cover the full cost of attendance for a student. After the recipient graduates, the income from this endowment will be directed to support another student, with this process repeating indefinitely.

Endowed partial scholarships cover a portion of the total cost of attendance for a student. They help alleviate financial burden for students and their families, so they can experience an Ursinus education to its fullest.

Annual Scholarships

Donors may choose to fund an annual scholarship with a pledge of $25,000 or more, payable over five years. You will be matched with a student recipient and receive annual updates about that student’s experience. Annual scholarship donors are also invited to the annual Leadership Dinner. You may also have an opportunity to meet your student recipient throughout the year.

Any contribution to the annual scholarship fund is welcome and will directly benefit deserving students by adding to scholarship dollars received in the next academic year.
