Community is invited to the GES Volksmarch 14 Oct: Groups will begin walking from 9 – 10:30 a.m. Grafenwoehr Elementary School has been participating in this great German-American event for more than 25 years. Students, chaperoning parents, staff and military personnel (172nd with at least 100 soldiers and members of the military police) will be walking off post. The older children (grades 3 -5) will walk the 10 km route while grades 1-2 will opt for 5 km. Both routes travel through and around Grafenwoehr. The kindergarten students will stay on post and walk to Dickhaeuter Lake. To us it is important for the school and community to support our German friends by walking their trail and supporting this great German tradition. Also, at the end of our hike, all will meet in the Jugendheim over Bratwurst and Spezi, chocolate cake and other delicious foods provided by the ladies of the hiking club. Childcare Co-op A child care co-op, sometime called childcare exchange, is an increasingly popular option for budget-conscious parents with a large circle of friends. In a co-op, parents take turns watching each other’s children. One parent might watch another parent’s child on, for instance, Mondays or two half-days, while another might watch the first parent’s children on a weekend evening or perhaps on Thursdays. In some groups, parents take turns watching everyone else’s children as a group, while in others they watch one family’s children at a time. This keeps the cost of child care down and keeps kids in the hands of caregivers parents trust. Interested? Contact Parent Central Services today at DSN 475-6656 or DSN 4762760. Brochure available at www.grafenwoehrmwr.com/cyss/cyss.html.

And what other castle could provide a better location for what is claimed to be ―the best Halloween Party in all of Germany?
