Grafenwoehr Military Community Issue Tracker

In the Spotlight Community Huddle Answers Questions WHO: Grafenwoehr Military Community WHAT: College Level Examination Program (CLEP) WHERE: Community Huddle , Tower View WHEN: 26 May 2011 SIGNIFICANCE: Computer based CLEP Testing is provided at our new National Test Center (NTC) at the Rose Barracks Education Center Bldg 223. This is a recent change as we opened the NTC in March of this year and prior to that offered paper based tests. The NTC has the ability now to offer a whole range of CLEP tests (33 versus the previously offered 14). The new Test Examiner has been administering CLEPS and should be certified to give DSSTs and Excelsior Credit Exams (ECE) shortly; DSSTs and ECEs are similar credit-by-examination tests. What may have been experienced is there was a short time period where the NTC test examiner resigned and the new NTC test examiner came on board. During this time there was an inability to administer tests. However, a list of those requesting testing and the University of Maryland sent a test examiner from another education center in the interim to test those who had requested to test. Any further concerns, please contact Ms Shelley Caywood at the Main Post Education Center Bldg 538 475-6786.

__________________________________________________________ Director of Public Works - Comment: Again the great team at DPW including Master Planning, Business Ops, Design, Buildings and Grounds, the contractor and Construction Inspection Branch delivered yet another outstanding facility for the Community. The Building 140 Parking Lot at our Main Post Chapel is paying off immensely and was funding well spend to better our Garrison and customer support. We have received several positive comments from community leadership and customers that say this was a needed project that turned out outstanding. The area looks great and compliments the Chapel, Annex and USO. We now have more parking spaces, smooth surface that actually drains with Safety & traffic flow all considered. Please pass on my appreciation and comments to all involved. Well Done! _______________________________________________________________________________________ USAG Postal Service/Rose Barracks - Comment: I was in the post office to send a package off, and your clerk Amber Smith was so very kind and helpful. In a few days my husband will be home, and I just want to say thank you to her and everyone else at the post office for always being so helpful. Thank you so very much

Safety Office - Comment: On 13 May 2011, Grafenwoehr Safety office conducted a Motorcycle Safety day. The event was well Organized and had a great set of instructors present. Areas of Improvement would be to do a little more classroom time to show some more safety awareness classes. The afternoon safety ride was also excellent and had a vast amount of different riding experiences such as curves, traffic awareness, in town, and out of town riding. Well prepared _______________________________________________________________________________________ USAG Postal Service/Rose Barracks - Comment: I just picked up packages from the Post Office. Every time I have gone in there to mail letters or pick up packages, the staff has been professional and helpful. They also accomplish the tasks as quickly as possible. Today, when I picked up my packages an employee named Jesse assisted me. He was very friendly and even brought them to my car as I had several large packages. He then asked if he could assist me any other way. I just want to say that in a day where customer service is not always the top priority, I feel that the Vilseck Post Office is doing an exceptional job and it is very much appreciated. I hope this message is relayed to Jesse as well. __________________________________________________________ Tower Inn - Comment: My Housekeeper was superb! The staff at the front is friendly very helpful, great job. _________________________________________ Have a service provider or someone you would like to Praise? Go to ICE and tell them!!! 3 of 5

Bring on the Praise Passports / ID - Comment: I would like to Thank Cliff Hahn for Outstanding Customer Service on my Renewal of my CAC card and my Military Retirement Card. He explained all of the functions with the new DOD number assigned and how it works. Very Professional and has a very positive attitude towards his position. Thanks for all You Do. ______________________________________________________________________________________ Housing/Rose Barracks - Comment: Mrs. GÜtz is very friendly and helpful. This was the first housing experience that I had in 22 years that was not painful and frustrating. I didn’t have to wait at all (which is rare) and I got all the appliances and furniture on the day it was scheduled by 1400. Very good service! _______________________________________________________________________________________ ODR/Main Post - Comment: I would like to ask that Hans Hathaway be commended for his outstanding support during last weekend's Eger River Hunting Trip. I travelled from Heidelberg, and Hans' efforts made the trip worth going for. Great job and thanks!

Housing/Rose Barracks - Comment: Hard Copy/23 May 11/No comments for improvement. Excellent customer service. Employees and Staff members were vey professional and extremely helpful. Continue to have the excellent service you have.

_______________________________________________________________________________________ CYS-Rose Barracks - Comment: I want to thank the ladies in Infant A room for doing such an outstanding job with my son. I know being his teacher sometimes is not that easy, but you stay with him and keep him on the right path. Thank you to Mrs Esther, Yorima and Jessie. _______________________________________________________________________________________ Auto Craft Shop/Main Post - Comment: Attended the 172nd spouse auto class. It was a perfect class with an upcoming deployment. I feel much more confident about walking in to do basic oil change on my own car. The staff was awesome!! Will definitely pass the word about the class if there is another one, and would love to go back for more! _______________________________________________________________________________________ ACS/Rose Barracks - Comment: Your loan closet is very helpful. I have used it for all of my kitchen items. The loan closet in Vilseck is the cleanest closet I have ever seen! All of my items are in good condition, and I saw some new helpful items that I have really used a lot. Thanks for this service, it was really helpful. The guy who does this always has such great information. I used him for a lot more then just the loan closet. Thank you. _______________________________________________________________________________________ ODR/ Rose Barracks - Comment: As a result of a scheduling conflict, I required information from ODR. The nature of the issue impacted the garrison as a whole and I was fortunate enough to have Morgan answer the phone. Morgan went the extra mile by calling people and quickly returning calls to me. She was professional, empathetic to the issue and demonstrated a genuine concern for the garrison's performance. Her actions exemplified teamwork and her assistance was invaluable to the resolution of this issue. I am proud to be a member of the same team as Morgan. 4 of 5
