We’ve had an incredible year at USA Girl Scouts Overseas! From spearheading impactful service projects and managing their own successful cookie businesses to diving into a broad range of STEM activities and careers, thousands of girls around the world have positively influenced their communities and paved the way for their future successes.
I am immensely proud of our Girl Scouts and deeply grateful to our donors, volunteers, program leaders and everyone who has contributed to these remarkable achievements. USA Girl Scouts Overseas (USAGSO) brings Girl Scouts to the daughters of military, foreign service and American expat families around the world and to girls in American or International schools. An operating unit of Girl Scouts of the USA, USAGSO ensures that no matter where American families move, they will have access to the Girl Scout Leadership Experience.

USAGSO members reside in military bases with 876 in the West Pacific and in the North Atlantic.
USAGSO serves 38 Military communities
Packages of Girl Scout Cookies sold or donated 288,357 conducted that served 22 girl members live on This number represents a 4.67% growth increase.

Camp USAGSO returned for the first time since Covid and 76 campers enjoyed Our Chalet in Switzerland.

USA Girl Scouts Overseas total membership was at 9, members during MY 2023. This was an increase of 4 percent over the previous year and includes a 3.2 perc increase in girls and 9 3 percent increase in adults
New member numbers for MY 2023 also had a 3.7 incre in girls and 7 percent increase in adults, totaling 3,971 n members. Our renewal membership were also up by percent from the previous year.

Our USAGSO STEMinist: Adventures in STEM with Everyday Superheroes continues to be an incredibly popular program! For four years, we’ve offered monthly virtual program sessions, providing hands-on, enriching and age-appropriate STEM activities for our Girl Scouts Overseas! Since launching the STEMinist series in 2020, we’ve reached more than 500 Girl Scouts around the world! New in 2023, we launched inperson STEMinist experiences with our first event hosted in the Kaiserslautern Military Community (KMC) for 75+ Girl Scouts We also hosted at SHAPE with 50+ Girl Scouts attending and plan to expand these in-person offerings to Brussels, Camp Zama and Okinawa later this year and into 2025.
USA Girl Scouts Overseas was excited to bring camp back for the first time post-COVID in 2023. We welcomed 76 campers to Our Chalet in Adelboden, Switzerland for a week of outdoor adventure.
Programming throughout the week was a mixture of WAGGGS and GSUSA content- girls completed steps for multiple badges, Journeys and the Girl Scouts Love the Outdoors Challenge.

In 2023, 343 USAGSO girls earned one of Girl Scouts Highest Awards. These awards require extensive planning, dedication, passion and determination and leave lasting changes to communities and groups across the globe.
The hours of service combined between the Girl Scout Bronze, Silver and Gold Award Girl Scouts for 2023 is more than 9,980 hours.
1,321 Girl Scouts sold 147,260 packages of cookies.
USAGSO operates a limited cookie program, mainly due to the restrictions around the importation and sale of American food products outside of the United States. During the 2022-2023 cookie season, with the guidance of GSUSA’s legal team, USAGSO was able to expand the Digital Cookie sales to all Girl Scouts in the European Union and pilot a Troop Link in Madrid. This expansion contributed to 19 percent of the USAGSO Digital Cookie sales.
864 Girl Scouts sold 114,428 packages of cookies.
U.S. Virgin Islands
107 Girl Scouts sold 26,669 packages of cookies.
Almost 500 Girl Scouts in military communities, including Yokosuka, Hohenfels, Camp Foster, Vicenza, Spangdahlem. Sasebo, Osan, Atsugi, Camp Humphreys, Camp Zama. Misawa, Baumholder and Iwakuni, came together virtually for a Cookie Rally that featured pop singer/songwriter, Kristina Lachago, the Girl with the Big Pink Heart.
Month of the Military Child is celebrated every April
Thanks to a generous sponsorship from Apex Clean Energy, USAGSO was able to host a patch design contest. The winning entry came from Girl Scout Daisy, Penelope H. in Iwakuni and her patch was distributed to hundreds of military-affiliated Girl Scouts during 2024.
Special programming during April 2023 included:
A military career panel, featuring six women in the military. A special Taste of the World virtual program with Staff Sargent Ricardo Cabrera taught girls how to make MRE glow-ups.
In partnership with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, USAGSO hosted two programsWomen in Space! and College & Career Exploration.
During 2023, USAGSO hosted four Overseas Committee Management Team (OCMT) retreats.
These included:
Pax Lodge (United Kingdom): 10 participants
Our Chalet (Switzerland): 16 participants
Camp Tama (Japan): 30 participants
Virtual (Zoom): 22 participants
We also launched in-person Volunteer Retreats in the United Kingdom, Germany and Japan that were attended by 56 volunteers, and an additional 65 volunteers virtually
Refreshed online onboarding courses for our troop leaders and Overseas Committee Management Team (OCMT) in the summer of 2023.
