Home and lifestyle Concept Store with a difference, Comptoir 102, completes its offering with the 102 Café Jumeirah’s unique shopping experience now embraces a healthy and organic food element Dubai, 11 April 2013 – Comptoir 102, the latest fashionable and trendy hot spot in Jumeirah, is excited to announce the opening of its in-‐store café today. The café will offer an array of delectable dishes which are organic, gluten and fat free – foodies will delight in the inventive yet honest menu which is prepared daily, with the freshest of locally sourced ingredients some of which are grown in-‐ house. The quality of the food is testament to the store’s culture of Parisian art de vivre with a menu designed by Chris Clark, Head Chef, nutritionist and a macrobiotic expert, with this spirit in mind. The menu will feature dishes that offer maximum nutritional value, prepared with techniques to boost digestion and nutrient assimilation. The stimulating menu will change on a daily basis with a choice of two starters, two mains and two desserts based on seasonal produce and market buys. Tempting appetizers will include evocative and flavorful combinations including zucchini carpaccio, cold beetroot pistachio soup, fennel and feta salad and mango shrimp spring rolls. Mains have been created to offer a little more sustenance, with a choice of salmon tartare and guacamole, bulghur risotto with roasted eggplant, red lentil coconut curry or sardine crostini. Desserts reflect the owners’ penchant for home comforts and featuring an array of homemade sorbets, apple tart with vanilla cashew cream sauce or their signature chocolate cashew mousse that is prepared without any butter, milk, sugar or eggs! All dishes will be accompanied with the finest freshly brewed coffee, artisan blends of organic tea, the freshest juices and a choice of smoothies made with organic homemade almond milk. The Comptoir 102 menu reflects a certain level of maturity uniquely attainable through years of nutritional research and concurrent culinary experience. Where many health-‐oriented restaurants simply seize upon the latest health fads and design their menus accordingly, Comptoir 102 offers evidence-‐based, truly healing cuisine, even when doing so means challenging prevailing health dogma. Whether it's the coconut sugar used to sweeten their desserts, the gluten-‐free brown rice pasta used in their otherwise traditional Minestrone, or the germinated almonds used in their Sundried Tomato Quiche, each ingredient is carefully selected and properly prepared using techniques to unlock nutritional potential. “Chris has merged multiple philosophies and perspectives into one coherent food concept and the resulting Comptoir 102 menu is something special and truly exceptional. He has sourced the finest available foods and carefully prepared them using techniques such as presoaking, fermenting, low-‐ temperature cooking, steaming, blending, and food combining. The combination of our urban home style concept store with the 102 café will transport visitors to the epitome of French chic”, commented founders Emmanuelle Sawko and Alexandra de Montaudouin. The café is incorporated into the store and looks out over a beautifully designed Arabian courtyard with wraparound terrace. Every last detail of Comptoir 102 is far removed from the stuffiness of Dubai’s commercial shopping malls, a destination to discover and treasure in Dubai’s retail landscape.
The 102 Café offers a daily menu priced from AED 75 and is open from 10am to 7pm every day (except Fridays).
