Having water bugs in the pool can ruin any pool time experience. Bugs are not life-threating but they can disturb a fun in the pool. People who have sensitive skin, bugs can tingle their skin, so it is important to keep your commercial pools bugs free. According to the pool management services firms, there are two common types of water bugs found in the swimming pool- one is water boatman and the backswimmer. The boatman feeds on the pool algae and the backswimmer feeds on the boatman. So, it is the best way to get rid of water bugs in a pool is to vanish their food supply and nesting places. Here are the ways to eliminate bugs from swimming pool. Use shock treatment: Due to the low levels of chlorine, algae grows in the pool water. In this case, it is better to shock your pool at evening or night as during day, sun burns the chlorine too rapidly. Swimming pool operators suggest to add 2 or 3 pounds of Calcium Hyochlorite for every 10,000 gallons of water in pool. This eliminates the most of the algae in your pool. Brush the Walls: In order to get rid of all the algae, the first thing you need to do is to brush the walls of your pool regularly. Ask worker of your pool cleaning company to clean up the walls by using hands as chemicals will clean up pool up to 95%. Some corners may need to be tackled by hand so use brush to clean the walls.
