Lifeguard Management Courses – Training the Aquatic Life Saviors While entering a beach or a swimming pool, the conscious is always aware of the fact that a well-trained and a professional lifeguard team is supervising the area as well as the swimmers. Often, we neglect the hard work of the individual that they put-in to excel in the training. Lifeguard certification under the management course includes training the individuals on water rescue. A lifeguard’s job & responsibilities can be categorized into primary and secondary responsibilities. The primary responsibility of a lifeguard is to safeguard the swimmer as well as himself under certain circumstances.
They are also required to maintain a close watch on the entire allotted area and on the swimmers. The soon-to-be lifeguards are taught on how to prevent injuries by minimizing or eliminating hazardous situations or behaviors. Efficiently supervising first aid, CPR or using AED in case of an emergency and monitoring oxygen as required. The secondary job responsibilities of a lifeguard employment are important still, they should never be performed while performing primary responsibilities. The secondary responsibilities include examining the swimming pool’s maintenance duties as asked by the supervisor which can also comprise of monitoring pool water chemistry, etc., filling out records and reports on attendance and submitting them to the designated authorities. Also, scanning the facility on a daily basis and reporting unsafe equipment or situations to the seniors. Apart from the aforementioned primary and secondary responsibilities, lifeguards are required to fully understand the expectations and resolve any needed clarification. All lifeguard services require the individual to be mature & reliable with good communication skills and quick decisionmaking skills. Also, aspirants should be aware of the facility’s emergency exit plans, rules & regulations, and personnel policies.
