Safety Guidelines for Commercial Swimming Pools

Whether you run a hotel, resort or Water Park, it is extremely important for you to ensure the proper functioning of pool operations. So, visitors can enjoy safe swimming. Performing aquatic jobs is a challenging, so, you need to hire professionals who have skills, knowledge and expertise to accomplish pool management tasks efficiently. In USA, every commercial pool owner needs to be compliant with commercial pool standards set by government. These standards are paramount for the safety and success of your aquatic facility operations.


Apart from appointing certified swimming pool lifeguards, you need to follow the following pool safety guidelines to provide a fun and safe environment.  Pool owners must ensure to have all necessary safety equipment including rescue tubes, lifeguard stations, coast guard approved life jackets, supplement oxygen, first aid kit, spinal board with head & neck supports etc.  Check local ordinances and codes for safety requirements and make all arrangements accordingly.  You must use non-slip materials for the pool deck, steps, diving board and ladders.  The installation of electrical equipment is done by a licensed electrician in accordance with local safety codes.  Diving board should be put in a deep area of the pool.  You need to build fence at least 6-8 feet high around all sides of the pool facility with having a self-closing locked gate.  It is important for you to mark water depths and use a safety float line where the bottom slope deepens.  Do regular maintenance to ensure the proper functioning of pool and equipment. Cover all sharp edges and protruding bolts; repair broken ladders and railings. Replace non-slip materials when they wear out.
