Spider Vein Removal Georgia There are many options available to patients for spider vein removal, all of which are minimally-invasive and surprisingly simple. Spider veins appear as thin, weblike clusters of blood vessels on the legs, ankles, and feet. While often harmless,

some patients occasionally experience aching or burning pain in the affected area. Sclerotherapy is the usual procedure for treating spider veins. This type of leg vein pain treatment has your doctor inject the affected vein with a solution called a sclerosant. This solution destroys the veins from within, closing them off, and allowing new veins to take over control of blood flow. Following the treatment, you should see visible improvements within a few weeks. Furthermore, sclerotherapy doesn’t require anesthesia, so you’ll be in and out in virtually no time at all! Another option for spider vein removal in Georgia is laser surgery. There are different types of laser surgery, including endovenous laser ablation or EVLA. Laser surgery typically involves firing strong bursts of light from a laser into your affected veins. This will heat the veins and cause them to collapse, allowing them to fade and disappear over time. As with sclerotherapy, the flow of blood is rerouted to your healthier veins following treatment. Laser surgery is ideal for spider vein removal as it works best with smaller veins. Conditions such as varicose veins or deep vein thrombosis require more powerful treatments. Leg Vein Pain Treatment There are multiple venous conditions that can have painful symptoms. Leg vein pain is very troublesome as it can prevent you from doing day-to-day activities. Conditions like varicose veins where blood pools and causes your veins to expand and become engorged can prompt mild to severe pain. Similarly, deep vein thrombosis, where a blood clot in your leg vein causes it to swell, can be just as painful. Furthermore, these conditions can cause painful ulcers to develop, wounds over your affected veins that do not heal. The pain experienced ranges from dull aching to severe burning pain, but there are many worthwhile leg vein pain treatments. Compression stockings are an effective nonsurgical form of treatment. They steadily improve circulation by maintaining pressure on the legs, usually tightest around the ankle, which is where varicose veins and spider veins tend to appear. They can help relieve pain and discomfort as well as reduce swelling, encouraging circulation so that blood doesn’t pool. Endothermal ablation is another recommended leg vein pain treatment. It involves using either laser energy (EVLA) or high-frequency radio waves (radiofrequency ablation) to destroy problem veins. Both treatment options are minimally invasive, which sees a catheter housing a laser inserted into the vein.
