Know Your HIV Status HIV testing is covered through your Student Health Fee

Whether it’s part of a routine care, a preventative health regimen, or due to possible exposure— make HIV testing part of your personal health care. MySHR (usc.edu/myshr) — You can use the "self-directed testing" option in MySHR, under APPTS > STI testing to make arrangements to go directly to the lab to collect your sample. If you have a new sexual partner, it is recommended to take an HIV test 4 weeks after a potential exposure. No “out of pocket” costs to you — All USC students who are participating in the Student Health Fee (this includes all full-time, international, or health professions students) are eligible for HIV testing without any out-of-pocket costs. Testing is available at the Engemann and Eric Cohen Student Health Centers. Who should get tested? — The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that everyone between the ages of 13 and 64 get tested for HIV at least once as part of routine health care.
