RESIDENTIAL COLLEGE Residential College Theme: Performance Science
Irani Residential College has a focus on performance science. Performance science focuses on the mind, body, and business. Students in this residential college will get to explore their untapped potential in learning how to break down barriers inhibiting leadership, decision-making, resilience, or creative potential. Students will attend programs and workshops that will help them understand brain and body function, human behavior, psychology, emotion, and leadership, all with the goals of maximizing performance, both individually and within an organization or community.
CARDINAL & GOLD EVENTS Cardinal & Gold events take place every Friday and Saturday night and are free to all residential students. There are activities and outings for every interest – from feature film screenings in McCarthy Quad to evening hikes in Griffith Park to concerts at LA Live. Debra Allen
Graduate Residential College Coordinator
Debra Allen received her master’s in higher education and student affairs from Ohio State University and her bachelor’s in anthropology and modern languages at Beloit College. Her student affairs experience spans residence life, international education, student union programming, leadership development, honors and scholar programs, service-learning, and social justice work. She spent several years working at Ohio State and most recently comes to USC from Cal State Northridge, where she worked as a senior community director for six years. At Cal State Northridge, she focused on the first-year experience living learning community and managed the residential students’ community center. She has also been an active member of the Western Association of College and University Housing Officers since 2010. In her spare time, Allen likes to go on hikes and bike rides with her pup Pete, attend live music venues, go to the beach, and explore her hometown of Los Angeles.
Oluwatobiloba Ishola, who goes by “Tobi,” immigrated to the U.S. from Nigeria with her family when she was 11. She has lived in the San Fernando Valley ever since. She obtained a bachelor’s in political science and with a minor in public policy from University of Redlands in 2015. Through her undergraduate involvement in residence life, Greek life, and student life, she realized my passion was in helping students navigate their institutions and in developing their autonomy. She is excited to continue following this passion at USC. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in postsecondary administration and student affairs at the USC Rossier School of Education. In her free time, she enjoys playing tennis, recreating Pinterest art, hiking, debating and spending time with family and friends.

Tiffany De Leon
Born and raised in the neighborhood surrounding USC, attending the school was a dream. That dream came true when she attended USC for her graduate work earning a Master of Education degree from the Rossier School of Education in Postsecondary Administration and Student Affairs. It was at USC where she began her experience in residential education by doing a graduate assistantship in the department. Before coming to USC for graduate school, Tiffany attended the College of Saint Benedict in Minnesota where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in History with minors in Sociology and Latin American Studies. After her undergraduate experience she became and admission representative for her alma mater. Most recently Tiffany joins us from California State University, Fullerton where she worked in their Housing and Residence Life department as a Community Coordinator. Tiffany is passionate about the development of student leaders such as the resident assistants. As a first generation student, she is also passionate about issues of access and retention surrounding that student group. In her free time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, trying new restaurants and traveling.
