Student Emails

Students are encouraged to sign up for their NetID online at itservices.usc.edu/ uscnetid and check their USC email regularly for updated information.

REQUIRED EDUCATIONAL MODULES The university requires new undergraduate students to take educational modules related to individual decision-making on important topics, including alcohol and other drugs (“AlcoholEdu”); consent and sexual respect (“Sexual Assault Prevention”); diversity and inclusion (“Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for Students”); and staying safe at USC (“Staying Safe”). These modules are assigned to your student via the student portal, my.usc.edu. When students arrive on campus and classes begin, they will take an inperson workshop on affirmative consent — this live session (offered via Zoom OR in-person on campus) “CHRSH 01 Trojans Respect Consent” will be available via TrojanLearn at trojanlearn.usc.edu). Workshops are offered in the summer starting in July, and are offered throughout the fall. Check the “Workshops tab in the USC Student Health records portal, usc.edu/myshr.

DEADLINES (Dates as of May 2022) Friday, August 19, 2022: Fall payment settlement deadline

The deadline for payment for tuition each semester is the Friday (at 5 p.m. PST) before the first day of classes. Payments after this deadline may generate late fees.

Friday, September 9, 2022: Fall health requirements deadline Students must update their health records, including immunizations, and make an insurance selection. See “Health Requirements” and “Beginner’s Guide to Health Care and Health Insurance” for detailed information. Students are automatically enrolled in the USC Student Health Insurance Plan (provided by Aetna) unless they submit proof of coverage and a waiver form by this deadline. If a student waives coverage before the deadline, the charge will be reversed on their student financial account and reflected in the next month’s statement. The semesterly Student Health Center fee is mandatory and may not be waived.

RECORDS AND PAYMENT SYSTEMS ACCESS As students’ educational records are protected under federal law (the Buckley Amendment, the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, or FERPA) student records, including grades and bills, are theirs to keep private. As these matters may generally involve the family as a whole, students may grant parents “Guest Access” to view: • academic records and financial records (in OASIS), or • financial records only (in ePAY) In order for students to request guest access to either system, they must have completed the following steps: • know their USC Student ID number (generated after matriculation, they will have to provide this number to you in order for you to log in to a guest account) • have requested their NetID (online at itservices.usc.edu/uscnetid)

Saturday, July 23, 2022: View and pay Fall bill on ePay Important: USC does not generate paper bills that are mailed to home addresses. You must check OASIS or ePAY to see the balance for the upcoming semester. Learn about understanding the charges on your bill: bit.ly/studentbillUSC Making payments: The Student Financial Services office offers a variety of ways to pay your bill — by web check (ACH), credit card, wire transfer, payment plans, and other methods. Credit card payments for tuition, fees and other charges associated with student accounts will be limited to $10,000 per term. Visit sfs.usc.edu for additional details.
