New Beginnings Lake Bring your swimsuit and sunscreen for a day of fun, swimming, water swings, paddle boats, land and water volleyball, basketball, free food and more! The University will provide transportation from the Community Center and the RFWC to take students to the lake, or drive yourself. Directions leaving USI: Head west on the Lloyd Expressway (Hwy 62), travel .5 miles and turn right onto McDowell Road. At the stop sign, turn left onto Middle Mt. Vernon Road and follow it until the road dead-ends into Posey County Road. Turn right and travel .2 miles. Turn left onto Middle Mt. Vernon Road and the lake will be on the right.
