All students entering grades 7 through 12 are welcome to join us on the campus of the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, as we kick off this event, June 21-23, 2009. Students should have at least one semester of experience on their instrument to attend the camp.

SUNDAY, JUNE 21
Oboist ANNA PENNINGTON has performed solo, orchestral, opera, and chamber music throughout Europe and North and South America. She has made appearances on National Public Radio, at Carnegie Hall, at Lincoln Center, and at many other international venues. Her many orchestral credits include performing with the New York Philharmonic, Jacksonville Symphony, Florida Orchestra, Charleston Symphony, Sarasota Orchestra, Pensacola Symphony, and the Mobile Symphony. Festival appearances include the New Texas Festival, Brevard Music Festival, Aspen Music Festival, Victoria Bach Festival, and the Salzburger Festspiele. Formerly signed with EMI Classics, Dr. Pennington has also been involved in numerous recording projects. Her teachers have included Joseph Robinson, Eric Ohlsson, and John Snow. Most recently, she has been appointed Assistant Professor of Oboe at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg.

D.M., The Florida State University M.M., Eastman School of Music B.A., Wellesley College KIM WOOLLY is Assistant Professor of Bassoon at The University of Southern Mississippi. In addition to teaching bassoon and theory, she performs as a member of Category 5, the faculty wind quintet, and with Promenade, a faculty Baroque ensemble. Dr. Woolly is Principal Bassoon with the Gulf Coast Symphony Orchestra, a member of the Mobile and Meridian Symphonies, and spends summers in Maine on the faculty of the New England Music Camp. Her performance credits include solo recitals at the 2008 Conference of the International Double Reed Society and at the 2006 International Computer Music Conference, as well as performances and masterclasses given in Brazil during a 2008 tour with Category 5. She performed with the orchestras of the Tanglewood Music Festival, the Heidelberg, Germany, Schlossfestspiele, and the Victoria Bach Festival, and has also participated in the festivals of Sarasota, Swannanoa, Chatauqua, Brevard, and Bowdoin.
