President’s Welcome Message

Back in full swing!

On behalf of the USPTA Florida Board welcome to the 2023 USPTA FL Division Convention! I hope you enjoy the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Resort & Spa with all the amenities it has to offer during your stay. The Florida board has been working hard to get many new and diverse speakers this year including the demand for pickleball seminars! We hope you enjoy the education but also take some time to relax and spend time with your family and friends.

On Thursday morning, we start with a specialty course with Mark McMahon and the golf scramble at 12:30. Our welcome reception cocktail party with hors d’oeuvres is on Thursday night at 6:00 PM sponsored by Welch Tennis! We also have Yoga for Tennis Friday & Saturday morning that will count for educational credits this year. A new event this year on Friday morning is a breakfast & brainstorming with roundtable discussions headed by a division leader. After a huge success last year our vendor trade show coffee meet and greet is back with lots of new vendors. Another change this year is a USPTA FL Awards Luncheon on Saturday to celebrate all our 2022 award winners. Afterwards we head to the pools and outdoor activities for cocktails and networking!

The USPTA Florida Division is always looking to raise the standard and lead the way by offering quality education and speakers for your continuing education and growth as a tennis-teaching professional in our industry. I hope you enjoy the convention and thank you for your continued support of the best division in the country again in 2023!

Quote: "It's been a remarkable journey and a true honor being a part of so many lives. What's even better is watching them grow up into mature adults and going to college, getting married, having kids of their own, starting their own careers, and just basically living their lives to the fullest. It puts a huge smile on my face knowing I had something to do with their lives and impacted them positively in some way." Rubinstein goes on saying, "I also can't thank my current and former players & their families enough, as well as my school administration and school staff over the years for putting their trust in me, as being a coach is a huge responsibility and luckily enough, they always gave me the reigns so to speak to not just lead, to not just coach, but to teach and help mold our next leaders of tomorrow " Rubinstein finally states, "To me, it's always about the team, period and end of story! Coaching is a selfless act which I've been lucky to do for over two decades A coach is meant to empower, show empathy, listen, challenge, motivate, support, and help others around them not just reach their potential, but to surpass it When I say that it's all about the team, I truly mean that, but in other words, it's really all about Family!"
