THE GEORGIA GAME Tennessee leads 21-17-2 in the all-time series, including an 11-8-1 edge in Knoxville and a 10-9-1 advantage in Athens. The Vols won nine consecutive games in the series between 1989-99 but have dropped seven of 11 since. The last six meetings in the series since 2005 have each been decided by at least 12 points.
The home team has won four consecutive in the series (2010: UGA 41-14 in Athens; 2009: UT 45-19 in Knoxville; 2008: UGA 26-14 in Athens; 2007: UT 35-14 in Knoxville). Four of the last five meetings in the series have been decided by 18 or more points. with the last two meetings decided by 27 points (2010) and 26 points (2009).
Tennessee vs. Georgia
The Tennessee Vols continue their 115th season with a 7:06 p.m. kickoff on Oct. 8 at Neyland Stadium and the 41st all-time meeting between UT and the University of Georgia Bulldogs. The game is broadcast on ESPN2, and the Vols are 14-5 on the network, including a 45-23 win over Cincinnati earlier this year. The Vols have not lost to Georgia in Knoxville since a 27-14 defeat in 2005. During each of the 21 seasons in which Tennessee has defeated Georgia, the Vols have finished with a winning record. A win over Georgia would give Tennessee a six-game winning streak at Neyland Stadium for the first time since the Vols won eight in a row at home from 2006-07, including the season finale against Kentucky in 2006 and wins in all seven home games in 2007. Tennessee is 48-23 (.676) in October since 1990, including a 25-13 (.667) record at home. The Vols will attempt to reverse a recent trend in which they have lost seven of their last 10 during the month since Oct. 25, 2008 and four of the last five. UT ended a four-game losing streak in October with a 41-10 win over Buffalo on Oct. 1.

A Tennessee Win Would...
Improve the Vols to 4-1 for the first time since 2006, when Tennessee started 7-1. A win would also improve UT to 1-1 in the SEC. Mark the fifth-consecutive win for the home team in the UT-Georgia series as well as the third consecutive win for UT at home in the series. A win would also be the third in the last four games vs. SEC East teams. Give Tennessee consecutive wins in October in the same year for the first time since 2007 (Oct. 6, 35-14 over Georgia; Oct. 13, 33-21 over Mississippi State) Improve Tennessee’s all-time record to 793-341-53 (.691). Represent the eighth win for Tennessee in its last nine regular-season games and the fourth SEC win for the Vols in their last five conference games dating to the Ole Miss game on Nov. 13, 2010.
