THE NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP... Lady Vols On A Roll

• Advancing to the 2012 NCAA Championships, the Lady Vols make their fourth consecutive NCAA Championship Tournament appearance. Tennessee has earned a spot in the field a total of 11 times since the women’s golf program began in 1992-93. • Including this season, Tennessee has advanced from the NCAA Regional to the NCAA Championship in each of the last four seasons and eight out of the last nine years. • The Big Orange has an average regional placement of 10.9 with a best placement of fifth (2000) and a worst finish of T19th (2010).

The Road to Nashville

• Tennessee posted a fourth-place finish in the NCAA Central Regional hosted by The Ohio State University with a 306-308-290=904 score to advance to the NCAA Championships. • Despite recording only one round of par or better at the regional, the Lady Vols used a their second-best team round of the season (+2, 290) in the third and final round to punch their ticket to Nashville and qualify for the NCAA Championship • Sophomore Chessey Thomas turned in the most consistent performance for UT at the regional, nabbing a share of 14th place with a 74-77-73=224 (+8) showing.

We Meet Again

• The NCAA Championship marks the second tournament that the Big Orange has played at the Vanderbilt Legend’s Club this year. The Lady Vols first saw the course Sept. 23-25 at the Mason Rudolph Fall Preview. • Tennessee, plagued by injury, finished 17th in the 18-team field at the Preview. Lady Vol scoring leader Erica Popson withdrew from the tournament after the first round while senior Nathalie Mansson missed the action due to injury. • Junior Sara Monberg and sophomore Chessey Thomas paced the scores for Tennessee at the Preview as the duo shared the 52nd slot on the leader board with a three-day total of 229 (+13).

Solo Shot

• Making the trek to Nashville this season, Lady Vol senior Nathalie Mansson becomes the first golfer in program history to compete in the NCAA Championships in each of her four seasons of eligibility.. • Mansson posted her best NCAA Championships performance in her freshman campaign, earning a share of 48th place with a 72-hole mark of 305 in Owings Mills, Md. in 2009.

Against the Field

• UT has compiled a 33-35-4 record against the 2012 NCAA Championship field this season, seeing 22 of the 24 teams already in 2011-12. • The Lady Vols have a 733-585-18 record all-time against this year’s championship field. •

TENNESSEE SUCCESS... Two Spring Tournament Wins

BY THE NUMBERS

• Tennessee won two of its last three regular season tournaments, claiming the LSU Tiger Golf Classic, coming in third at the Anuenue Spring Break Classic and coming out on top at the Bryan National Collegiate to wrap up the slate. • The Lady Vols posted a 39-2 record in their last three tournaments before heading to the conference championship.
