Big Orange Slices... The All-Time Series Against the Razorbacks  The Big Orange leads Arkansas in the all-time series between the two teams by a 29-11 count, is a commanding 22-4 against the ‘Hogs since the arrival of Co-Head Coaches Ralph and Karen Weekly to Rocky Top prior to the 2002 campaign and have won eight consecutive games in the series dating back to UT’s last defeat to UA on March 21, 2008, in Fayetteville, Ark. UT is only 10-8, however, when facing the Razorbacks on the road at the old Lady’Back Yard or the recently built Bogle Park. In the last visit to Arkansas, Tennessee swept a tightly-contested doubleheader on April 14, 2010, by scores of 3-1 and 5-3. On the Upswing...  After some slow starts to the season several Lady Vols have recently been settling in at the plate since beginning the Tennessee Classic on March 3. Senior utility player Shelby Burchell has lifted her average .112 overall, hitting .421 over the last nine contests with four doubles and four RBIs. Despite still dealing with right knee issues, junior outfielder Kat Dotson has raised her overall batting average up to a season-best .311 by posting a .421 mark over the last nine match-ups with a pair of multi-hit efforts. Perhaps the most promising of all is freshman Cheyanne Tarango. The Anaheim Hills, Calif., native has tallied a .421 average since March 3 with her first four collegiate doubles and is at an even .500 since being put into the starting line-up as the designated player prior to the series against #3/4 Florida. Got Talent on the UT Bench!  Tennessee is currently tied for the SEC lead in total pinch hits with nine this season over just 23 at-bats and guides the league in pinch-hit batting average at a remarkable .391 (9-for-23). Two of those nine pinch hits have been home runs as senior Cat Hosfield and sophomore Melissa Davin recently came off the bench to blast big flies during victories over Georgia Southern on March 13. Who Scores First REALLY Matters  A trend is developing in 2012 as the team that scores first during Tennessee softball contests usually ends
