Some Quick Notes Here are some quick notes to pay attention to with the Lady Vols entering the SEC Tournament: --UT owns nine wins over ranked teams this year including #1 Alabama (in Tuscaloosa, Ala.), #1 and defending national champion Arizona State (in Tempe, Ariz.), #3/4 Florida, #9/8 Louisville and #9/10 Georgia. --Tennessee has faced 17 teams that were part of the 2011 NCAA Tournament, posting a 21-7 record against those squads in 2012. The Big Orange also played 29 games against teams rated in the top 50 of the most recent RPI, going 23-6 in those contests. --UT is 8-3 overall in 11 total television match-ups in 2012 and has been on TV a staggering 87 times since heading out to the program’s first WCWS in 2005. --Tennessee currently leads NCAA Division I in fielding percentage (.983), rates 11th in steals (1.85 per game), 12th in ERA (1.63) and 29th in batting average (.304). --Tennessee recorded an impressive 13 two-out RBIs in its three-game sweep at Auburn over April 6-8. --Junior third baseman Raven Chavanne has reached base in each of her last 33 games, a career-best, and is on a six-game hitting streak with at least two hits in each of those contests. During that span the Thousand Oaks, Calif., native won USA Softball National Collegiate Player of the Week (5/1) and SEC Player of the Week (4/30) honors after hitting .833 (10-for-12) with six runs scored and five steals against Tennessee State and Ole Miss (three games). --Sophomore left fielder Melissa Davin is hitting .588 (10-for-17) over UT’s last eight games with a teambest 4 HR’s and 10 RBIs...she’s also hit two HRs in a single game twice over that span and three times in 2012. --Tennessee owns the longest winning streak of any top 25 team in the nation at 18 straight games. The next closest streak belongs to UMass at 16 consecutive victories. During its 18-game winning streak, UT has outscored the competition by a commanding 101-23 total, swiped 42 bases, hit .315 overall and its pitching staff boasts a 1.32 ERA and a .168 batting avg. against. -- Junior pitcher Ivy Renfroe has won her last 14 decisions dating back to her last loss at #1 Alabama (3-2 in 11 inn.) on March 21. The Jackson, Tenn., native is 14-0 with a 1.19 ERA over that stretch with 86 K’s in 94.1 innings of work while limiting the opposition to a .168 batting average.
