Big Orange Slices... The All-Time Series Against the Gators  The Big Orange trail Florida in the two teams’ overall series by a 18-38 count and is 10-13 against the Gators all-time in Knoxville. UT is 2-14 against UF over the last 16 meetings and 11-24 versus the Orange & Blue since the arrival of Co-Head Coaches Ralph and Karen Weekly to guide the program prior to the 2002 campaign. Tennessee did manage to defeat the Gators in UF’s last trip to Lee Softball Stadium, bouncing back from a 6-0, doubleheader-opening loss to prevail in what proved to be the series finale, 4-3. The fan eruption that night of April 23, 2010, at Erinn Webb’s bases-loaded, walk-off free pass in the bottom of the seventh was so loud that it was heard and reported upon by media members at UT baseball’s Lindsey Nelson Stadium. Opening the Conference Slate  The Big Orange stand at 9-6 all-time in Southeastern Conference openers entering this weekend’s home series against #3/4 Florida. During the 2011 campaign, UT dropped its league opener with a 9-6 defeat at #23 Kentucky on March 11. UT held a 5-4 lead into the sixth inning of the lidlifter before watching the Wildcats rally for the victory. After recovering on Saturday to rout the ‘Cats 10-0, the Big Orange lost a 5-4, 10-inning heartbreaker to UK to drop the initial league series of the 2011 season two games to one. Tennessee was within one strike of a 4-1 triumph in the finale before allowing a game-tying, three-run HR to Kentucky catcher Megan Yocke. Putting an End to Streaks...  Tennessee has made a habit over the past few seasons of putting an end to some lengthy winning streaks by the opposition. During the 2011 campaign, UT managed to stop GEORGIA’S 37-GAME HOME SKEIN that dated back to April 2010, ceased then-#1 Alabama’s 13-GAME WINNING STREAK with a 4-1 home win on March 22 and later rolled in Baton Rouge, La., over April 15-17, ending then #21 LSU’s 11-GAME VICTORY RUN. During the 2010 NCAA Super Regionals, the Big Orange visited Ann Arbor, Mich, and stopped THENNO. 2 MICHIGAN’S TWO-YEAR-LONG, 36-GAME HOME STREAK. The Lady Vols will attempt to add #3/4 Florida’s current 10-game winning skein to that impressive list this weekend at Lee Softball Stadium. Ivy’s Finding Her Mark  Lady Vol junior pitcher Ivy Renfroe certainly appears to be settling in from the circle. The Jackson, Tenn., native has now fired 17.1 STRAIGHT SCORELESS INNINGS dating back to Feb. 24 and has emerged victorious from her last three decisions. After going 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA during the Tennessee Classic over March
