HARRISON BACK ON THE SCOREBOARD
Senior midfielder and team captain Amy Harrison ended a nearly-two month personal scoring drought on Oct. 14 in UT’s 3-2 OT win over LSU. Harrison opened the season on fire, scoring four goals in the first two matches of the season to earn Top Drawer Soccer College Player of the Week, Soccer America Team of the Week and SEC offensive player of the week accolades for that week. Harrison’s header goal in the 82nd minute against LSU pushed UT ahead, 2-1. The senior tied her career highs for shots (five) and shots on goal (three). Harrison has scored and UT has won when Harrison has three shots on goal.
FANTASTIC DEFENSE
The Lady Vols rank 11th in the nation and second in the SEC in scoring defense with a 0.563 GAA.
UT now has nine shutouts on the season (8-0-1 in those games).
SWEET CAROLINE
Junior forward Caroline Brown notched her third multi-assist game of 2012 against LSU. Brown and Tori Bailey combined for a double assist on Harrison’s goal and Brown had a wonderful soft touch in the box to Hannah Wilkinson for the match-winner. UT is 3-0 and has outscored opponents, 11-3, when Brown has at least two assists.
ELITE ECKEL
Sophomore goalkeeper Julie Eckel has allowed just 10 goals in 17 games this season. Her 0.597 GAA ranks 18th in the nation and second in the SEC. The UT single-season record for GAA is 0.68 set by Vanessa Phillips-Bosshart back in 2004.
