Junior midfielder CC Cobb has been a vital part to Tennessee’s success this year. In addition to being one of the best set-piece players on the team and one of the main corner-kick takers, Cobb’s intensity and motor in the midfield while playing through injuries has been unmatched. Cobb has started the last seven matches she has played in and UT is 6-1 in that stretch. When Cobb is in the starting lineup, UT has posted five shutouts and outscored its opponents, 12-2.
ELITE ECKEL
Sophomore goalkeeper Julie Eckel has allowed just 11 goals in 19 games this season. She has a 0.59 GAA, which ranks second in the SEC and 21st in the nation. The UT single-season record for GAA is 0.68 set by Vanessa Phillips-Bosshart back in 2004.
SHUTOUTS KEEP PILING UP
UT has posted 10 shutouts this season, going 9-0-1 in those matches. The school record is 12 set back in 2003.
HOME COOKIN’
Tennessee has been strong at home this year, going 6-2-1 in front of the friendly fans at Regal Soccer Stadium. UT has outscored its opponents, 14-6, at home and outshot them by nearly a 2:1 ratio (19.9 to 10.2 shots per match). Bono and Caroline Brown are two players who have had most of their success at Regal this season. Bono has scored four of her five goals at home. Brown has tallied two of her three goals and five of her seven assists in front of the home crowd.
