NOTEWORTHY NOTES
¢The Knights are coming off a pair of shutout wins against Washington and Hawaii in the No Ka Oi Tournament in Honolulu. UCF defeated Washingtion, 3-0, in its season opener on Aug. 23 and shut down Hawaii, 2-0, on Aug. 25. ¢ UCF went 17-5-2 in 2012, finishing third in Conference USA with an 8-3 league record. The Knights made it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, losing to Florida, 1-0. ¢ In 2012, UCF boasted the No. 2 defense in the nation with a 0.524 GAA and the No. 18 offense in the country, averaging 2.25 goals per match. ¢ The Knights graduated its top two points leaders in 2012 in Nicolette Radovcic (12 goals, three assists, 27 points) and Tishia Jewell (seven goals, 10 assists, 24 points). However, UCF has no shortage of experience as the team returns seven starters and 13 letterwinners. ¢ Forward/midfielder Tatiana Coleman, who scored two goals in UCF’s first two games, should be familiar to Tennessee fans. Coleman played at Auburn from 2011-12 and earned 2012 First Team All-SEC and 2011 All-SEC All-Freshman honors. When Auburn eliminated UT from the 2012 SEC Tournament on penalty kicks, Coleman converted the first PK. The Tigers had a 5-3 edge on PKs.

BRING ON THE BEST: UT VS. THE RANKED
LONG ROAD TRIP
UCF is ranked No. 17 in the latest NSCAA/Continental Tire poll and No. 25 in the latest Soccer America poll. The Knights are Tennessee’s first ranked opponent of the season. In 2012, UT went 2-1 against ranked opponents in the regular season. After a 1-0 loss to No. 1 UCLA, Tennessee took a 1-0 win over No. 11 Missouri and a 1-0 win over No. 9 Texas A&M.
TIME TO BOUNCE BACK
Tennessee suffered its first loss of the season on Sunday, Aug. 25, in a 1-0 setback at Samford. UT has not had back-to-back losses in the regular season since 2010. The last back-to-back losses occurred when the team followed a 4-2 loss at Florida on Oct. 15, 2010 with a 2-1 loss at South Carolina on Oct. 17, 2010. Since then, Tennessee has had a string of 41 consecutive regular-season matches without back-toback losses.
Friday’s trip to Orlando, Fla., is the first of Tennessee’s four 2013 regular-season road matches that are over 600 miles away. The remaining long hauls include a trip to Baton Rouge, La., to play LSU on Sept. 27, a trip to Fayetteville, Ark., to face Arkansas on Oct. 20 and a trek out to Columbia, Mo., to take on Missouri on Oct. 27. In 2012, UT went 1-2-1 in road matches that were over 500 miles from Knoxville.
BACK HOME ON SUNDAY VS. JAMES MADISON
Tennessee will return to Regal Soccer Stadium on Sunday to host James Madison for a 1 p.m. home match. Admission to all 2013 UT regular-season home contests is free.
