NOTEWORTHY NOTES
¢ Dayton went 14-4-2 in 2012 and finished second in the Atlantic 10 with a 7-1-1 league record. The team returns 13 letterwinnners and eight starters from a year ago. ¢ The team’s biggest loss was Colleen Williams, who led the team with 17 goals and 14 assists in 2012. However, the Flyers return plenty from punch in senior forward Juliana Libertin (12 goals, 11 assists in 2012), sophomore forward Ashley Campbell (12 goals, four assists in 2012) and big-time senior defenders Sarah Senoyuit and Meghan Scharer. ¢ In Dayton’s two losses this season, the Flyers trailed at halftime and were unable to even the game in the second half. ¢ Dayton has 31 shots in the first period and 31 shots in the second this season. The team’s offensive pressure tends to pick up in the second half as it has 12 corner kicks in the second half as opposed to just three in the first half of matches. ¢ UD has played six of its freshman with regular contribution from GK Elizabeth James, M/F Libby Leedom, M/D Erin O’Malley and F/M Meghan Blank.

Offensive Player of the Week and Vanessa PhillipsBosshart received Defensive Player of the Week. Eckel played 180 outstanding minutes in goal for Tennessee this week and went 2-0-0. She notched six saves against UCF and stood her ground on numerous one-on-one attempt, allowing Tennessee to come back with a pair of second-half scores to win the game. On Sunday, Eckel recorded her first shutout of the season and the 18th of her illustrious Tennessee career.
WILKINSON EARNS WEEK 2 NATIONAL HONORS
SPADE IS SPECTACULAR
Friday’s match marks the first-ever meeting between Tennessee and Dayton. UT is 6-4 all-time against teams from the Atlantic 10 Conference. ¢ Last Match vs. A-10 Opponent: Tennessee defeated A-10 member VCU on Aug. 26, 2012, 2-0, in Knoxville. Kylie Bono had a rebound score off a VCU defender in the third minute and CC Cobb scored directly off a corner kick in the 68th minute. On Tuesday, Hannah Wilkinson was TopDrawerSoccer. com Player of the Week. Wilkinson scored three goals and two match-winners as UT took wins over No. 17 UCF and James Madison. Sheis the first Tennessee player to earn TopDrawerSoccer.com Player of the Week since Amy Harrison received the same honor on Aug. 22, 2012. She also becomes just the third UT player to be named to the award, joining Harrison and Kylee Rossi (Oct. 1, 2007).
WEEK 2 SEC HONORS
Wilkinson also garned SEC Offensive Player of the Week and Julie Eckel was named SEC Defensive Player of the Week. Wilkinson’s and Eckel’s SEC weekly nods mark just the third time in school history that two Tennessee players have received SEC weekly honors for the same week. On Oct. 22, 2012, Wilkinson and Eckel earned the same respective accolades after Tennessee defeated No. 9 Texas A&M, 1-0, and rallied back to beat Ole Miss, 2-1. On Oct. 31, 2005, when Ali Christoph received
Tennessee junior Cheyenne Spade was named to the CS360 Primetime Performers Weekly Honor Roll for Week 2. Spade had a major impact for Tennessee this week with three big assists over two starts and 125 minutes of play. She dealt assists on both of UT’s goals as the team rallied for a 2-1 upset win and also found Wilkinson for the match-winner vs. James Madison.
HOME STREAK VS. NON-CONFERENCE FOES
Tennessee has won nine consecutive regular-season matches vs. non-conference opponents. The streak stretches three seasons. UT’s last regular-season home loss to a nonconference foe was a 2-1 setback on Aug. 26, 2011, against No. 8 UCLA.
