 Tennessee is coming off an 8-0 win over Winthrop on Tuesday.  Madison Shipman saw three pitches in the game and produced a solo home run, a two-run homer and a twoRBI double. Dating back to UT’s game against Alabama on March 10, the last four pitches Shipman has greeted at the plate have gone: HR, HR, HR, 2B with six RBIs.  Lauren Gibson hit a two-run homer in the first inning to give UT the lead vs. Winthrop.  Ivy Renfroe tossed four scoreless innings with four strikeouts to improve to 9-1 on the season.

FLORIDA 2, TENNESSEE 1 (8 INNINGS) May 11, 2012 - SEC TOURNAMENT (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) Florida halted Tennessee’s 19-game winnings streak when Bailey Castro hit a solo home run to left center in the top of the eighth. Raven Chavanne scored UT’s lone run in the first inning on an error by the second baseman.  Last Regular Season Meeting: FLORIDA 1, TENNESSEE 0 March 11, 2012, in Knoxville, Tenn. Florida scored the only run of the game on Michelle Moultrie’s solo home run to center field in the top of the third. Ellen Renfroe was strong in the circle, striking out seven in seven innings.  Last Meeting In Gainesville: FLORIDA 7, TENNESSEE 2 May 8, 2011, in Gainesville, Fla. Florida scored three runs in the first two innings and four moure in the fourth to control the game. The Gators’ Brittany Schuttte had two hits and two RBIs and Kelsey Horton had a solo homer. Lauren Gibson had an RBI double and Madison Shipman hit a solo home run.

IVY RENFROE: DOUBLE NATIONAL POW On Tuesday, senior pitcher Ivy Renfroe became just the fifth Lady Vol to earn Louisville Slugger/ NFCA National Player of the Week and USA Softball National Collegiate Player of the Week honors for the same week. She joined Monica Abbott (2x), Tonya Callahan (2x), Lindsay Schutzler and Ashton Ward as the only UT players to ever accomplish that feat. Last week against then-No. 1/2 Alabama, Renfroe went 2-0 with an 0.68 ERA and eight strikeouts over 10.1 innings (three appeances)
