¢ The 16th-ranked Tennessee volleyball team posted its second consecutive 2-1 weekend last week to open the young 2012 campaign with a 4-2 mark after two regular season tournaments. ¢ The defending Southeastern Conference Champion Lady Vols began last season’s title run with the exact same 4-2 mark through six matches, and then rattled off 11-straight victories through its final regular season tournament and first eight league matches. ¢ Through six matches, the Big Orange also has two wins over ranked opponents with five-set decisions against then-No. 10 Iowa State (Aug. 25) and then-No. 24 Colorado State (Aug. 31). In 2004 - UT’s most-winningest campaign in terms of percentage - the Lady Vols also had a pair of wins over ranked opponents through six matches. The Orange & White beat then-No. 18 Loyola Marymount and then-No. 24 Purdue. ¢ The Lady Vols posted a program-high .914 winning percentage with a 32-3 overall record, including a 15-1 mark in league play in 2004. After sharing the SEC title, UT went on to win two matches in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history. Tennessee also captured the 2004 SEC Tournament title.
A LOOK AT THE TOURNAMENT FIELD ¢ The Lady Vols will matchup against George Washington, Boston College and tournament host, Maryland at the Comcast Pavilion in College Park, Md. Notes: UT won the opening three matchups of the series - all in straight sets - but has traded matches in the most recent three vs. George Washington. ¢ Boston College Series Record: First Meeting, 0-0 Last Meeting: N/A Notes: First meeting between the two programs ¢ Maryland Series Record: UT leads, 3-1 Last Meeting: Lady Vols won, 3-2 (20-25, 22-25, 2927, 25-22, 15-5), in a comeback victory at last season’s Comcast Lady Vol Classic. Notes: The Lady Vols are on a three match winning streak against the Terrapins. Kelsey Robinson posted 24 kills and 24 digs against the Terps last season.

¢ Tennessee posted its second straight 2-1 weekend at Wichita State’s Shocker Volleyball Classic, picking up five-set wins over then-No. 24 Colorado State and the tournament host Shockers. ¢ Robinson led the tournament with 69 kills, tallied a double-double in each of UT’s matches and was named to the all-tournament team for the secondstraight weekend. The 6-foot-2 hitter registered three 20-plus kill outings and had at least 17 digs in each match. She posted her third-career 20-20 effort with 24 kills and 22 digs in a loss to BYU and tallied 24 kills and 18 digs against the Rams. She now has 32-career double-doubles, including five straight. ¢ Sophomore Mary Pollmiller became just the second player in program history to record a tripledouble with 49 assists, 14 digs and a career-best 11 kills against the Shockers. Pollmiller was also named to the all-tournament team. ¢ Sophomore Tiffany Baker matched a career-best at the event with 19 kills against CSU, while senior Leslie Cikra stepped up defensively, tallying a teamleading 16 blocks at the tournament. Cikra tied a career high with seven blocks against Colorado State.
