• Sixth-year associate head coach Tony Jones is serving as acting head coach during Bruce Pearl’s eight-game SEC suspension. The Vols are 3-2 through the first five games of the suspension. • For NCAA official records purposes, UT’s results during the suspension will be credited to Pearl. • Tennessee is riding a three-game SEC win streak, including a victory on the road at Georgia (RPI 42). • Tennessee’s next two games take place at the only active SEC men’s hoops venues in which the current Vols coaching staff has not logged a victory. The staff is 0-2 at C.M. Tad Smith Coliseum and plays its first game at the new Auburn Arena next Thursday. • UT boasts the nation’s No. 1 “strength of schedule.” See Page 2 for a few reasons why. • Junior shooting guard Scotty Hopson has scored at least 13 points in each of UT’s last 10 games. • True freshman forward Tobias Harris has six double-doubles this season, including five in UT’s last nine games. Among SEC players, only MSU’s Kodi Augustus has more double-doubles this season (7). • Senior point guard Melvin Goins is averaging 13.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists over Tennessee’s last two games. • Tennessee’s average home attendance this season stands at 18,220. The Vols have ranked fourth nationally in average home attendance for each of the past four seasons. • The Vols have defeated three ranked opponents this season, toppling No. 7 Villanova in New York City on Nov. 26, No. 3 Pitt in Pittsburgh on Dec. 11 and No. 21 Memphis in Knoxville on Jan. 5. All three contests were won in convincing fashion, as Tennessee led for a total of 114:30 in the three games combined (trailing for only 5:30 of game time). • Since the 2005-06 season, the SEC has 21 non-conference wins over AP top-10 opponents. Tennessee accounts for six—or 29 percent—of those victories (and five have come on the road).
