• Both of the Vols’ opponents this week are ranked in each major poll. Tennessee is 3-2 this season vs. top-25 teams, including wins away from Knoxville over No. 7 Villanova and No. 3 Pitt. • The Vols have defeated three ranked opponents this season, toppling No. 7 Villanova in New York City on Nov. 26, No. 3 Pitt in Pittsburgh on Dec. 11 and No. 21 Memphis in Knoxville on Jan. 5. All three contests were won in convincing fashion, as Tennessee led for a total of 114:30 in the three games combined (trailing for only 5:30 of game time). • In his sixth season at Tennessee, head coach Bruce Pearl owns an 8-3 record vs. Florida, including a 3-2 mark in the O’Dome. • In five career games vs. Florida, junior shooting guard Scotty Hopson averages 15.4 points while shooting .460 from the floor and .444 from 3-point range. • This matchup features five former McDonald’s All-Americas in Tennessee’s Scotty Hopson and Tobias Harris and Florida’s Kenny Boyton, Vernon Macklin and Patric Young. • UT boasts the nation’s No. 1 “strength of schedule.” See Pages 2-3 for a few reasons why. • Tennessee has six wins over teams in the top 50 of the most recent NCAA RPI (Pittsburgh, Villanova, Vanderbilt, Memphis, Georgia, Missouri State). • Freshman All-America candidate Tobias Harris has seven double-doubles this season, which are the second-most in the SEC this season. • UT recently announced plans to retire Louisville, Ky., native Allan Houston’s (1990-93) No. 20 during a halftime ceremony before the March 6 Kentucky game at Thompson-Boling Arena. • Tennessee’s average home attendance this season stands at 18,558. That ranks fourth nationally behind Kentucky, Louisville and Syracuse.
