• Tennessee has won each of its last seven meetings with South Carolina and is 8-2 against the Gamecocks during the Pearl era. • Senior center Brian Williams, an SEC Sixth Man of the Year candidate, needs just eight rebounds to tie former UT All-America Dale Ellis (1980-83) for 15th place on Tennessee’s career rebounding list. • Senior guard Josh Bone has established a reputation as a fierce defender, but his offense has been an asset for the Vols recently. Bone averaged 9.0 points on .778 shooting (7-for-9) last week. • Tennessee’s average home attendance this season stands at 18,558. That ranks fourth nationally behind Kentucky, Louisville and Syracuse. • In SEC play, the Vols rank last in the league in free throws attempted (148). Six SEC teams have attempted at least 200 free throws in league play, and five teams have made more free throws than the Vols have attempted. For more on UT’s free-throw woes, see Page 3. • Freshman All-America candidate Tobias Harris has seven double-doubles this season, which are the second-most in the SEC. • UT boasts the nation’s No. 1 “strength of schedule.” See Pages 2-3 for a few reasons why. • Tennessee has six wins over teams in the top 50 of the most recent NCAA RPI (Pittsburgh, Villanova, Vanderbilt, Memphis, Georgia, Missouri State). • UT recently announced plans to retire Louisville, Ky., native Allan Houston’s (1990-93) No. 20 during a halftime ceremony before the March 6 Kentucky game at Thompson-Boling Arena. • The Vols have defeated three ranked opponents this season, toppling No. 7 Villanova in New York City on Nov. 26, No. 3 Pitt in Pittsburgh on Dec. 11 and No. 21 Memphis in Knoxville on Jan. 5. All three contests were won in convincing fashion, as Tennessee led for a total of 114:30 in the three games
