• The University of Tennessee is currently on holiday break. Spring semester classes begin Jan. 11. • Tennessee’s January schedule features five games against current AP top-15 teams. Those teams boast a combined 51-8 record (.864). See Page 4 for a truly mind-blowing January note. • UT’s average margin of defeat against the three AP top-20 teams it has faced so far was 5.7 points. • Tennessee’s top performer against ranked foes this season has been junior forward Jeronne Maymon, who averages 19.3 points and 11.0 rebounds per game vs. teams ranked in the AP top 25. • On Dec. 23, five-star power forward Jarnell Stokes from Memphis, Tenn., signed with Tennessee. A consensus national top-20 prospect, Stokes will enroll for spring classes and will be eligible to play for the Vols upon clearance from the Southeastern Conference (he has been officially admitted to UT and cleared by the NCAA Eligibilty Center). Stokes turns 18-years-old Saturday. • Stokes, who sat on the UT bench in street clothes for Wednesday’s game at Memphis, is Tennessee’s first prep signee from the city of Memphis since Dane Bradshaw in 2002. • Sophomore point guard Trae Golden is shooting 61 percent from the floor since undergoing surgery for a broken nose on Dec. 30. For more on Golden’s play since the injury, see note on Page 4. • Junior guard Skylar McBee has made at least three 3-pointers in five of Tennessee’s last seven games. He is shooting a team-best .435 (30 of 69) from beyond the arc this season (fourth in the SEC). • In UT’s seven wins, four perimeter Vols are each shooting better than 41 percent from 3-point range: Skylar McBee (.479), Cameron Tatum (.459), Trae Golden (.412) and Jordan McRae (.412). • Tennessee enters SEC play this season boasting the league’s most conference wins over the past six seasons (65). Florida and Kentucky are tied for second with 62 regular-season SEC wins dating to the 2005-06 season. • Florida is 8-1 this season when it forces 14 or more turnovers, and the Volunteers are averaging 13.1 turnovers per game.
