The Breakdown Tennessee returns home after two road games for a 12 Noon game vs. the Mississippi Rebels...the Vols fell to Ole Miss in Oxford last season 42-17, ending a streak of 12 consecutive wins for UT over the Rebels...a win would give the Vols their first SEC win in 2010 and improve the team to 4-6 overall.

The Series  Tennessee owns a 43-19-1 edge over Mississippi in the all-time series...the Vols won 12 in a row on two occasions, between 1902-35 and 1984-2005.  Including a 0-0 tie in 1936, Tennessee was unbeaten in the first 19 meetings vs. Ole Miss from 19021946...the Rebels won eight consecutive over UT from 1959-66.  Tennessee is 24-5 vs. Ole Miss at Neyland Stadium and 3-1 in Oxford...the teams have played 24 times in Memphis (UT is 13-10-1) and six times in Jackson (3-3).

 The Vols have won six consecutive in Knoxville in the series from 1985-2005 and have won 11 of 12 over Ole Miss at home since 1967.  The Rebels defeated the Vols 42-17 last year in Oxford on Nov. 14, ending a 12-game UT series win streak.  A win would snap a six-game losing streak vs. SEC West opponents and mark the first home win vs. the West since a 34-3 win over Miss. St. in 2008.  The Vols have scored 20 or more points in 12 of the last 13 games vs. Ole Miss since 1984.

To Note Nov. 6: Tennessee 50, Memphis 14

 The Vols improved to 3-6 with a 50-14 win over Memphis...the win was UT’s seventh consecutive over the Tigers and the 16th in a row over Conference USA opponents.  In his first career start, QB Tyler Bray was 19-of-33 for 325 yards and five touchdowns...five different players were on the receiving end of Bray’s TD strikes.  The Vols forced five turnovers for the first time since a 63-20 win over Arkansas on Nov. 11, 2000.  UT had a 100-yard rusher (Tauren Poole, 101) and receiver (Denarius Moore, 103) for the first time since Nov. 24, 2007 (Arian Foster, 118; Lucas Taylor, 103).  UT scored 40 points before halftime, the most since scoring 42 before the half vs. Memphis in 2009.

SEC Freshman of the Week

 QB Tyler Bray was named SEC Freshman of the Week for his performance vs. Memphis...he threw for 308 yards and five TDs in the first half, both Tennessee records for a single half of play...his totals of five touchdown passes and 325 yards overall are the most in UT history for a quarterback in his first start.  Most Passing Yards in a Single Half, UT History Player Yards Opponent (Half) TYLER BRAY 308 2010 vs. Memphis (1st) Jonathan Crompton 305 2009 vs. Memphis (1st) Peyton Manning 285 1997 vs. Northwestern (1st)

Entering November

 Tennessee continues its November schedule with Saturday's game vs. Ole Miss...over the last 10 seasons from 2000-09, the Vols are 34-9 in November (.791)... UT has won 12 of its last 15 games during the month since a 39-10 win at Vanderbilt on Nov. 18, 2006.  Tennessee is 71-12 (.855) in November in the last 21 seasons since 1990, including an astounding 37-3 (.925) record in regular-season games in November or later during the decade of the 1990s.  The Vols were 51-3^ (.944) in November from 1991-2003 and are 16-8 (.667) during the month since 2004...UT won 21^ consecutive November games between 1990-96.  Tennessee Record by Month (Since 1990) Years Sept.* Oct.
