OPPONENTS AT A QUICK GLANCE
This week, the No. 16 Lady Vols travel to Louisville, Ky., for a Wednesday match versus the Cardinals at the brand new KFC Yum! Center before returning home and host Mississippi State on Sunday. Tennessee is coming off two impressive wins this past weekend, as it downed Florida in four sets and swept South Carolina at home. Last year, Tennessee won all but two home SEC matches in the friendly confines of Thompson-Boling Arena. To conclude this season, six of UT’s last eight conference matches will be home at TBA.
The midweek showdown with Louisville marks the eighth consecutive year that the Lady Vols and Cardinals have meet in a non-conference match. Louisville enters the match with an overall record of 17-6 and 9-1 against the BIG EAST. With its record, U of L ranks second in the conference and has already clinched a spot in the upcoming BIG EAST Championships that begin on Nov. 18.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT The No. 16 University of Tennessee Lady Vol volleyball team notched a pair of home victories this past weekend over then No. 13 Florida and South Carolina to improve to 20-3 overall and 13-1 in conference play. UT hit .175 to Florida’s .160, which marked the first time the Gator’s have been outhit all year. Tiffany Baker was outstanding in both matches, as she registered double-doubles in each match. Against UF, she blasted 13 kills to go along with 11 digs, while in the USC match, the Carrolton, Texas, native tallied 15 kills and dug up 12. Four Lady Vols hit over .400 in the South Carolina match, as in addition to Baker, sophomore Kelsey Robinson notched double-double number 17 on the year with 13 kills and 10 digs.
