The Conference Championships...
2011-12 LADY VOL S&D SCHEDULE
2012 SEC Swimming & Diving Championships For the fifth time in Tennessee history, the Lady Vols and Knoxville will serve host to the Southeastern Conference Championships. In the previous four league meets that UT has hosted, the Lady Vols have finished second (1988), third (1996), fifth (2006) and sixth (1986). It will also be the first time the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center will serve as the host facility, as the Student Aquatic Center hosted the previous four. Jenny Connolly, Kelsey Floyd and Linsday Gendron all earned First-Team All-SEC honors a year ago, while Gendron and Lauren Solernou were named to the All-Freshmen Team. The Lady Vols have finished fourth at the last four SEC Championships. The SEC is one of the toughest conferences in the nation, since 1982 the league has placed 82 teams in the NCAA top 10.
Road Warriors The Lady Vols have been on the road a lot this season, as five of their first seven meets/invitationals have been away from the friendly confines of the AJIAC. However, being away has not been a problem for UT, as the squad has three dual meet wins on the road as well as placing first at the UNCW Open Water Swim. The last time UT has been on the road as often as this season came during the 2007-08 campaign, where the team went 3-1 in dual meets and competed in three other invitationals.

The Remaining Schedule After the SEC Championships, Tennessee swimmers and divers will have one more opportunity to improve on their season-best times/scores at the Last Chance Meet over Feb. 24-25 at the AJIAC. The NCAA Zone B Diving Championships and the NCAA Championships will be held in Auburn, Ala., at the James E. Martin Aquatics Center.

Molly Hannis was the first Lady Vol to be honored by the SEC, as on Oct. 25, 2011, the conference tabbed her the Freshman of the Week after she won three events in the double dual meet against Indiana and Kentucky. In her collegiate debut, Hannis notched first-place times in the 100y breaststroke and 200y breaststroke and was a member of the winning 200y medley relay squad. Hannis again earned the accolade on Nov. 22, this time after the Tennessee Invitational, where she qualified for the ‘A’ final in both breast events and competed on the runner-up 400y medley relay quartet. The league announced on Jan. 10, that redshirt sophomore Tori Lamp was the conference’s Diver of the Week. At the Georgia Diving Invitational, Lamp set a Lady Vol record in the platform and won the event, while also claiming second on the 3-meter boards. On Monday (Jan. 24), junior Kelsey Floyd was selected as the SEC Swimmer of the Week for her four-win performance against Georgia. At the meet, Floyd was victorious in the two fly events and both relays, achieving B-cut times in every event. The Lady Vols doubled up on Jan. 31, as Lindsay Gendron and Hannis were rewarded for their efforts versus Florida. Gendron was tabbed the SEC Swimmer of the Week and Hannis again earned Freshman of the Week honors. Gendron was victorious in every event she competed in and broke a UT record in the 1000y free. Hannis won the 100y and 200y breast events and was on the first-place 200y MR squad.
