Katherine Card went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer in the top of the sixth. Monica Abbott fanned 18 batters and allowed one hit and one walk to earn the win.

Using three-run first and a four-run sixth, Tennessee handed Florida its worst loss of the year in a 9-2 win in Game 2 of the Women’s College World Series on Thursday. Kat Dotson was a homer away from the cycle. Ellen Renfroe struck out nine in a complete-game effort. Melissa Brown had a key two-RBI double in the first inning that gave UT a 3-0 advantage.

¢ 9 RUNS Tennessee’s nine runs on Thursday are its most against the Gators since an 11-3 (5) victory on May 13, 1999.

6-0 START IN 2013 NCAA TOURNAMENT

Tennessee went 3-0 in the Knoxville Regional, 2-0 in the Knoxville Super Regional to get to the World Series and took a 9-2 win over Florida on Thursday. UT has had a 6-0 NCAA start twice before - in 2005 and 2010 and finished third nationally both times.
